What's a good soup stock that will go well with this?
buy miso paste from coles or woolies, a tea spoon and water, boil, wothbsome tofu and veggies does well
Would recommend placing miso paste in AFTER you boil, preferably off heat. I typically mix some miso paste with hot water in a separate vessel, dissolve it, and add it once the rest of the cook is done.
Er… you don't cook the cook, you know.
Tonkutsu (slow simmer pork) broth with black garlic and toasted sesame is my winter comfort recipe
Tonkotsu all the way!!! With a smashing of chilli ….

Do it on the lighter side, soy, dashi, sugar mirin, seaweed and onion. Add some fish cake, soft boil egg and some shallot to finish off
Organic Japanese Udon Noodle
The added salt and water are not organic.
????
exactly….
I'm always confused why random Woolies/Coles specials with a dollar off get a separate post…
VERY popular item.. rarely now on discount..
I see
Never understood why they call this udon. It's more Somen.
Interestingly, they (Hakubaku) have Somen.
Which is exactly the same because they are both so thin. Only difference is theyve loaded 70% more salt onto the Udon for some reason. Odd recipe if you consider Udon would be served with high sodium soups.
This pack is 270g, I reckon it's definitely for two people, not three.
The pack says three servings, and even 1/3 = 1368mg sodium.
Really you'd be having just over 2 grams of sodium if you shared the pack with someone.
Carbs mate. They would basing their servings on 400cal reference per serve.
1368mg sodium per serve kinda crazy. Trying to split this pack of noodles between 3, you'd surely still be hungry.
Here are some different noodles I have had before: https://spiralfoods.com.au/product/100-buckwheat-soba-noodle…
Less than 5mg per 100g of sodium
These are probably worthy alternatives at $3.10/kg pack
ramen or egg noodle.
Sure, if your local WW store has stock.
Hakubaku noodles are in available in most (if not all) WW stores.
$3 on amazon also and can combine with 5% off for $40
