  • Can we use this oil as topping up for Honda CRV?

    • +1

depends what oil is specified for the car, and what's already in it

      • You cant mix and use? Like petrol, unleaded mix with 95?

        • A bit too thick.
          Should be using 0w-20

          • @grizz_li:

            Should be using 0w-20

Only if it snows where u live. Our K24 has 210k km on it running 5w-30 & 5w-40 on 10k changes.

"Another uncertainty is the shear stability of a mixture of two different weights. As the chemistries of the two oils can vary, there is no way to predict how well the blend will stand up to shearing forces and extreme heat. While it may not be a disaster, the safer choice would be using one type of motor oil that was formulated to perform at its best."

(I've been using Full synthetic 10W-40 form penrite and nulon since my 2006 CRV reached 200K Kms, with no issues 280K Kms now and running strong)

      • Yes oil can be mixed lol

    • +1

      5W-30 is probably more suitable

    • Depends on the mileage and year model.

    • Don't mix oils unless you like replacing engines. $50 for oil plus a filter, simple to change. Saves you headache.
