recommend this this toothpaste, specially people with sensitive teeth and gums

    • What about colgate sensitive pro relief? They seem to have very similar amounts of if fluoride

My dentist recommended this one to me, have had some fillings etc. YMMV.

I'd say even if people don't have sensitive teeth and gums that the Novamin in this toothpaste would be worth it just to ensure cavities don't form in the first place.

  • OP, did you get the regular (cool mint) repair and protect or the whitening one? And do you know if one is better than the other?

    • +1

I got the cool mint, haven't tried the whitening one!

This stuff works. No more sensitive teeth.

I recently did a thorough dental cleaning treatment which left my teeth pretty sensitive. Normal brushing would cause pain. Used this toothpaste for just a week and the pain was gone. I'm back to the normal toothpaste now (I like that one's taste better) and this one is close to 90% remaining in the tube. Pretty effective product

    • +1

Shhh don't say that out loud. They'll change it so that you have to constantly be using it for it to be effective. You know… like the rest of pharmaceutical conglomerates.

      • +2

Yeah, like how the ads show people putting toothpaste along the brushes, rather than across them. You only need a pea sized amount to clean your teeth.

Sensodyne Sensitivity & Gum is one of few toothpastes that are made in the UK and it is a shame that GSK is shutting down its UK factory. I will stock up as many UK-made Sensodyne toothpastes as much as possible since Thailand-made Sensodyne hasn't been that good for dental health.

    • Aldi do an Australian made one with Potassium nitrate for $5.99.

    • +4

I like the idea of uk made toothpaste but why would thai made any less effective if it is the same formulation?

      • UK has stricter regulations on ingredient quality and safety.
        Thailand… not so much.

  • Thanks, cancelled my Colgate order and ordered this.

  • The Aldi and Colgate offerings also do not have any remineralisation properties.

    • The active ingredient to counter sensitivity is Potassium nitrate.

The Aldi version has more Potassium nitrate. As for remineralisation Colgate has its own snake oil for this such as Arginine.

Sensodyne Is overly expensive, especially at full price where it is ridiculously expensive for what it is.

      • +3

There are several studies showing Novamin and Biomin having a greater effect on remineralisation compared to standard fluoride toothpaste. It's my preferred snake oil.

  • WOOOOOOOOO time to stock up!

  • +1

Repair and Protect is the best toothpaste.
