  • Have the T&C changed to enable eligibility for the Boost cashback? ie do you have to commit to a 2nd month to get the cashback?

    • +1

      Special terms
Important: Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. Adding more than one SIM to an order will result in an untracked purchase.

SIM must be activated within 30 days of ordering.

Cashback is ineligible on recharges, phones, bundles, accessories, eSIMs, plans or products not listed in the cashback table of rates, use of codes not listed on Cashrewards, and purchases via the Boost app.

You must return and click through Cashrewards for each new transaction.

No not really based on above

      • -3

I've actually been able to activate 3-4 months after the supposed "activate within 30 days" condition.

        • +4

Careful with this - the last TopCashback deal payout was delayed while Boost checked/reported activations (with non-activated sims declined), so seems like it might be enforced going forwards.

          • @SirCrumpet: Very interesting read that thanks, especially about additional month/recharge requirements possibly being applied, I don't venture into every TCB thread.

      • ok Thx

IIRC there was a discussion on OzB a few weeks ago that Boost Mobile had indicated in the near future .. that stipulation of an ongoing commitment would be required to activate the cashback … maybe just OzB scaremongering lol

    • The SIM needs to be active for cashback to be paid. You don't need to recharge, but you can't port out. source

  • +1

Bought and tracked immediately. Great stuff

  • Annoying that eSIM isn't eligible for cashback!

    • +5

Just buy physical Sim then activate it then convert to esim

      • +1

More-so I'm going somewhere regional this weekend and wanted to guarantee that extra coverage while driving.

Fingers crossed the SIM arrives before Friday

        • -1

Normally, you will get it in 2-3 working days.

      • +2

That kinda defies the point of having an esim feature tbh.

  • Cashrewards keeps declining my cashback for car hires (3 x $90 transactions) saying Avis didn't approve it. So dodgy. Very sceptical about them now.

    • +1

I have to say that's very rare for cr, but still sucks. More common for shopback.

    • +2

IME,, Cash rewards generally has good support. What you described sounds like more of an Avis issue tbh.

      • +1

It is. Any time I make a purchase through a cashback from any travel-related company I work on the premise that I won't get my cashback. Because so many in the travel industry are dodgy af.

        • +2

I get that but then Cashrewards should stop advertising their deals otherwise they should be responsible for false advertising.

          • @Royale with cheese: They authorise enough of them to not destroy the relationship they have with the cashback company so they stop promoting them entirely as you describe, but enough to save some $$$ on payouts. Like I said dodgy af.

          • @Royale with cheese: Have you spoken with support at all?

            • @biggweilo: Yes they have raised a new query which may take another 3 months. Initially their response was "tough luck" but when i complained more, they said they would ask avis again.

        • I have received cashback on numerous Agoda and Booking.com purchases.

      • May be it's a game of hide-&-seek & it's call SELECTIVE-scamming.

No-one can prove or dis-prove that these money-back companies are 100% honest…only senior-management knows. Their business-model is based on LURE & NO-transparency, hence this make them deceptive-in-nature.

Sure their partners' store make most-of-the-call, but can any one be confident that they don't skim-some-of-the-takings ?

Tracking failure: the onus of proof is on the buyers…why do they washed their-hands if buyers provided proof of purchase ? Have they provided proof that their partners' store rejected money-back claims ?

Business is about profit or else extinction: EVERYTHING take 2nd priority…you'll know what I mean when you're on the I N-side 😱

  • good timing , I think even consider the tracking may be fail ,the price is 'acceptable' .

  • +1

gone are they days they owe you money when you 'buy'?

    • +3

They may be testing the interest. If no one buys, they may pay you again to buy

    • they've burnt too much money juicing the active account numbers

  • +7

If your area has equally reasonable coverage for both Optus and Telstra, the $24 for 120GB mobile plan from Amaysim is still available.

Both TopCashback and Cashrewards offer $24 cashback.

    Ends tomorrow.

    • Yep grabbed one of those last night (to port my number across from a for-profit boost sim and thence to another for-profit boost sim after a month) seeing as cheap Lebara sims seem to have gone away now.

    • Yes, I bought the second Amaysim last night and tracked already.

  • +1

    Where are my profits?

    • They seem certainly not to lay in the Realm of Boost for the foreseeable future. Only profit I've gleaned from a Boost deal lately has been when the cashback company have offered a bonus on a $X spend.

    • The good old days. My "boost profit" alert is dusted for quite a while for now.

  • -2

They were dumb to ever offer for profit schemes in the first place, and its the reason why it has taken 6 months to get any sort of monthly deal from boost.

    • The Cashreward Boost deals (and other good CR deals) seemed to end when they had staffing changes early in 2024…. (May be unrelated though)

      • -1

I don't know anything about that, but im not suprised if boost let go of people wonce the accountants saw how much they were losing.

I can only imagine boost marketing were getting commissions, cash rewards or similar as well, on top of that postage and the cost of sims paid by boost then paying customers up to $6 each to activate 35 sims (also a cost to boost) - then not have any of them being converted to paying customers. That whole system was doomed to fail.

        • It was doomed once people started buying 10 sims for $5 profit

          • @Johnsickboy: The limit was 35 per CR account. Some people had multiple CR's too.

          • @Johnsickboy: That would have been easy to stop (if they wanted to) with basic limits on the cashbacks…

        • +1

I think 'tightarse' negotiated a lot of the good CashReward deals, he left CR at the end of Jan which is around the time the good deals ended : https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/217371

          • @FLICKIT: In fairness, Shopback offered for profit deals early 2024, but less frequently and with a lot more "my purchase didn't track" complaints from users. Other companies did too, but less frequent.

I never did the 35x sim deal. That should never have been allowed. but i did churn in and out multiple times on my one main number.

          • @FLICKIT: 100% agree

With him gone it's also so difficult for me to contact support.

But ofc we should be happy for ta as he got work at a lot better place now

        • +1

          @biggweilo @FLICKIT It worked for a while:

Oct 2023 Using Cashback and Exclusive Offers to Drive High Conversion Rate.
Australia’s largest cashback community, Cashrewards, helped Boost Mobile dominate mobile category traffic.

          https://blog.commissionfactory.com/affiliate-marketing/using…

          • +1

@trixieb: That makes a lot of sense ty…

            • +2

@FLICKIT: This lol: Outside of its own platforms, Cashrewards cross-promoted the campaign on OzBargain – a popular deals forum in the region – expanding the campaign's reach to a new audience who quickly flagged the offer’s value and increased its visibility on-site by upvoting and commenting.

Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later.

    • same thing for me…oh well.

    • You must have had bought too many Sims recently within last 2 months or so.

You need new details I think for the new order now

  • +2

Great, now I need to pay for internet.

  • It has been half an hour, did not yet track
    Should I be worried?

    • Hmm not sure sometimes cash rewards does indeed get slow at times.

But most of times cashrewards will track it in under 15 mins

      • It has been about 2 hours, still no tracking. What should I do? Make a claim, ask support to cancel the order or something else?

Please help, first time Boost failed to track on CR

        • You can do any of those things, just depends how risk averse you are.

I've seen lots of people straight up cancel any order that doesn't track immediately. Some others will contact CR to get a manual claim rolling straight away.

Personally I've always just let them ride to the 7 day mark and lodge a claim through the app as is procedure. Never had a problem.

But also I don't really care if I actually have to pay ~$20 for a sim because I've had hundreds of free sims for thousands of $ profit.

        • If I was you I'd ask order to be cancelled

That's a different story that I never had a good luck with cancellations on boost orders.so I'd always had to rely on mercy of cashback provider to track it with a manual claim

Cashrewards is so annoying with missing cashback reports at least with me that's why I loved it when they had ta on, now everytime I'll have to email their support for lodging missing cashback reports too myself.

If you cannot manage to get order cancelled and are super sure you had no adblockers on or using VPN or adblocking DNS/browser then I guess you can also rely on cashrewards support's mercy but I think that's quite risky nowadays

  • +1

Bought yesterday but hasn’t tracked yet 😢

    • Same. Amaysim tracked instantly, but not Boost

    • +1

Same purchased 3 sims yesterday still waiting to for tracking 🙄

    • +1

Not tracked for ne as well.

    • +1

      Same

  • 60GB is showing as $45 now.

  • Ah looks like the profit days are over. Now debating whether to jump off the train or just buy a sub $90 year long plan and not stress

    • Profit might be hard to come by but still enough cashback deals going to have free monthly sims so far.

      • Is there? I thought it's just been amaysim recently, but the 20 days feels like it's cutting it close.

        • +1

          Eh, monthly shmonthly.

  • Got a Boost dispatch email without purchase. Someone's order is coming to me? Tracking is still pending.

    • Haha lucky you! I had this happen one time and followed the tracking and watched it get delivered somewhere in country NSW. It was just the dispatch email that was sent to me in error not the sim. Still got all my sims I had ordered at the time.

    • hmm lucky you i guess

      i got nothing

      • It shows the Boost system is flawed and someone didn't get the dispatch email coz of this.

        • what else to expect ?? when they laying of so many essential workers

    • Same here! I was very confused.. if I get a free SIM card, won't complain!

    • Same here too! But still pending after 5 days.

  • +1

Did not track This is becoming a reoccurring pattern with both Cashrewards and shopback and the cashback's with mobile sim providers

  • +1

    No tracking yet, very disappointed

  • +1

    No tracking yet. Doh.

  • Submitted a claim - not tracked for 7 days

  • +1

Submitted x3 claims as still not tracked in 7 days …..I did received the sims in 3 days .

  • +1

Submitted a claim as mine also didn't track.
I got the $20 60GB one - how about everyone else. Did the $15 45GB track and the $20 60GB not?

  • +1

Not tracked for $15 45GB. Submitted a claim.

  • Submitted claim also, didn't track. Boost accidentally sent me 2 Sims instead of 1. Interesting

    • Boost has sent me Belong SIM before, go figure:)

  • Got a refund as it did not track

    • Still got the sim though. I gues I can call that 100% cashback

  • All rates are showing 0% now?!

    • yes I saw that yesterday too it was 0%.

CashRewards days are not looking good honestly

      • back with cashback rates on Cashrewards BTW

  • shopback have $10.50 cashback on the "$35" sim which is $15

can;t be assed making a new post

  • Mine didn't track and it's been 5 days since submitting my claim and I've heard nothing.

    Time to delete Cashrewards?

    • I got an autoreply after submitting my claim saying they have higher than usual requests and to allow 10 (working?) days to hear from them.
I believe they have been cutting staff recently.

  • +2

Cashrewards manually added the Boost Mobile cashback of $12 with total spend of $15 ($35 SIM minus $20 sale discount) to my account after I lodged a missing cashback claim. Hopefully this pending cashback will be approved in the near future.

    • Same with me

  • The word from TA is that Telstra will enforce the requirement that the SIM must still be active for cashback to be paid. I was expecting to port out, but seems like this will invalidate the cashback. Unfortunately, I have just told Amaysim I would be porting in…

    • I sent an enquiry to CashRewards and have not received a response.

      • I have now received a response.

If you port out somewhere else before the cashback is paid, it might not be eligible for cashback. I highly suggest to wait for the cashback.

This makes Boost more difficult to work with for a main number.
