Casio solar powered watches are tough! Got mine from a very old COTD deal from way back when and I am still wearing it today. Probably the oldest electronic device in my possession that is still actively used!

It won't be Chris Bowen approved then .

    • It's their straps that are the problem.

I have one that's over 5 years old, and the original strap 'dried out' after a year and became brittle, broke. Since then i've been replacing the strap with cheap alternatives but the watch was around $30, and the strap costs more than it.

Another reason why It's worth paying more and going for a G-Shock. Have never heard of that happening as they are more premium and thicker.

You can always get those adaptor kits and nato strap from Ali pretty cheap, or even get one of those knockoff skmei for the strap.

      • Huh, my Casio straps lasted all the way. Might be because I wear mine on my belt and not on my wrist?

        • Yeah they are very cheap anyway, even if they only last 5y but I reckon they would keep going forever.

CASIO has never disappointed me with any of its products. This is another reason why I will be buying more CASIO watches. Functions are easy to use and can be used as a sport watch or just wear it casually.

Is there a way to find all Amazon JP products available to Amazon au prime users? Be good to take advantage of their weak yen

  • Pretty good value..
'spec sheet on the front', like a lot of Casios 😄

We have like iwatches and pixel and galaxy watches these days. Why should we buy old school casios over these newer smartwatches?

    • +2

These always function the same, it tells the date and time now and mostly likely in 10-20 years…. The smartwatch? Support drops, lithium battery pillows and expands(maybe) and generally becomes outdated on its extra features….

    • Not sure if trolling but the same question was asked here:

  • That white one is pretty. Hmmm… haven't received my orient just yet and now another decision.

Just be aware it's a negative display which some may find hard to read.

  • Solar isn't really needed on those Casios, if they last 10 years on regular coin battery. I have a more featured one but without solar, gathering dust, still clocking on the original battery after 7 years. Not sure when it will give up.

  • Yeah I wouldn't worry and easy to change the battery yourself for $2. Not all have a 10y battery but some advertise it like the AE1200.

Not sure these ones are the best looking models but$50 isn't too much to spend anyway. Even the cheapest beaters are now $26 image of $10 - 15.

  • I got a little too excited when I read that as 7 watches for $52!

    • Ha I just updated it, the orange is now $49.36. Bargain for a Casio Solar watch.
