Looking for Best SIM Only Plan (40GB Data)

Hi, I’m looking for the best SIM plan other than the big telco.

I’m currently with Optus and I don’t wanna pay $65 anymore if I get the same kind of service for cheaper price.

Below are my considerations:

Aldi: Cheap plans.
Amaysim: I used this in 2018, not bad, not great either. Some great deals EOFY now.
iinet, Felix, or any other recommendations?
TPG SIM: Does anyone use this ?
Woolworths SIM: Telstra network, some good reviews, 10% Woolies off one time a month.
I need about 40gb data.

Thank you!

I'm a huge fan of woolworths as I get the bulk of my groceries delivered. No brainer in terms of cost and getting the telstra wholesale network.

Belong is a good option of you want full telstra network without paying for it.

Amaysim can use the full Optus network, so if it's working fine for you you should see no difference afaik.

    • Woolies sim looks like a good deal.

Most of them cost around 35-40$ for the data I need, they all have speed caps at 100mbps.. which is fine as long as it doesn’t buffer or load webpages..

    • What do you think of felix is it any good and do you know if felix use part of vodafone network or use full vodafone network. Trying to get vodafone for a year as telstra coverage is not good in my area yet. Telstra is building a tower for their 5G equipment around May 2025 so i will probably move to Belong later on. For the time being please recommend if any vodafone providers are ok. Thank you.

      • I tend to sign up to Felix while travelling overseas then drop them when I come back. It's great for travel, not really the best domestic plan.

Beyond that I didn't need to use their support so it was exactly like every other mobile phone provider, it just works. Mostly it'll depend what the signal is like in your area.

        • I think signal should be fine as we recent had a Vodafone 5G system installed about 180 metres away from where i live. i am just wondering if it uses full vodafone network, tower or just part of the vodafone network. Probably next year will get from belong (telstra) as telstra is planning to build a 5G system in May 2025 about 500 metres from where i live. Currently have woolworths but due to lack of telstra tower near by indoor pretty much no signal unless you are near window you get 1-2 bar and outside usually only 1-2 bar signal strength as well. Thank you for your reply.

I'll give a +1 to Belong. I was originally with Telstra and what pushed me away from them was their move to CPI motivated price increases. Did the due diligence myself and still wanted the benefit of being with someone that was on the Telstra network so Belong seemed the best way to go. Currently have 2 services with them and no dramas.

    • Looks like Belong is fav who wants to use Telstra network.
Oh I forgot, need some minutes for international calling..

Woolies and Amaysim checks my requirements

I've always found Optus awful and anyone that uses their network (wholesalers, etc).

If you're looking at Aldi you might as well look at Boost Mobile.

    • Amaysim used to buffer.. not sure how it is now.. yeah data cap applies..

      Heard good things about boost

Can't personally vouch for them, But Circles.life

    • 50GB/Month for $15/Month
    • 100GB/Month for $20/Month
    • 250GB/Month for $30/Month for 12 Months
    • +$8/Month for International Calls, 300 mins to 25 countries
    • Data Rollover
    • Optus Network
    • Everything is great but dont want credit check for this..

I went with Boost so I know that no matter where I travel in the country I am getting the absolute best coverage. If you don't need to consider that, personally I'd be going with Woolworths Mobile so you can use their 10% monthly shop perk.
