Four n Twenty using the word Premium should be a breach of consumer law

Premium is probably the OPs flowery AI poetic licence.

No band-Aids in them is considered premium.

Better off getting the meat free ones for something less bad, you know what's in them at least, and one star rating better.

To be fair, I can't actually see anywhere they have used the word Premium lol. Even the brochure just says "Red Rooster Chicken Pie or Angus Beef Pie".

Although I guess when you're comparing it to their "meat" pie which they legally can't call beef pie, it's premium 😂

      • To be fair, premium is marketing fluff and not regulated by law

  • bloody rippa, bloody unreal

  • Trash food.

    Dog food

    • reading the ingredients label?

    • +1

Dog food usually has around 20% to 30% protein. This is worse than dog food.

The Red Rooster chicken ones were surprisingly good. Nice big chunks of chook and tasty gravy,

Thanks, I was wondering if they were good. Didn't sound good to me tbh, but will give it a chance.

If they're no good, I know where you post.

    • better than paying $7-7.50 for 1 at RR, that's for sure.

The Premium Range is not bad if it was being cooked properly. Put it in the microwave for 2 minutes before the oven for 15 minutes, and it will be ready to be served. Under this economy, it feeds a family of four for $6.6 is a bloody bargain.

    Should be $4.

    • +1

      Price gouging enquiry 2.0 incoming.

  • $8.40 for the meat free ones. You pay more to care about animals.

    • Just wait till they are $6.60-$8 as well, I don't if not cheap. Meat usually same price.

      • +1

Usually do too and good if you also have a 10% off shop still for the month and maybe a points offer.

        • A lot of the Woolies don't even stock the meat free, you have to go to the right store.
On a side note, I'm glad they have brought back So Good Ice Cream, won't be buying it for $9.50/L, haven't seen it on special yet. Was good for $4.50-5.00 a few years ago though.

  • Price was well under $10 before gouge frenzy mascerrading as inflation in 2021. Another good example of home grown inflation Jim. I'm surprised ABS measures it at 4%. Doesn't pass the pub test.

They include the falling prices of high cost discretionary items in the calculation, including tech items that always fall in price - TVs, mobile phones, cars etc. It's not the average price of essential items needed for 'living', it's the average price of goods the 'average' Australian buys.

They also include increases in quality as a decrease in price. If a new model iphone comes out next year at the same RRP, that isn't a 0% change, the phone is faster, better screen etc, so the change is calculated as a decrease in price - even though you spend the exact same amount out of your pocket.

It will - by design - always underestimate the inflation in the supermarket, it's more obvious when inflation is higher.

It all makes sense when you realise the CPI does not intend to measure the 'cost of living', people just use it that way, incorrectly.

  • Yeah they were about $6 full price and used to go on special. Then 6.50, 7, $7.50 and then out of control. It's pointless as no one would buy this crap unless it's half Price (same with crisps).

  • 4n20, tomato sauce and a vb stubby perfect Australian meal

  • Red Rooster pies temporary unavailable near me. funny how that just seems to happen when they're on special, they will have heaps next Wednesday I'm sure.
