Is it worth upgrading my old pocket wifi for this one? Living in the GSA.
I got one in the last sale. Worth noting I got mine unlocked via Vodafone without paying anything. I just requested the unlock code. Waited a week and then got a SMS. Although your results may vary.
I thought you need to pay $25 to unlock it ?
You got lucky I think. I bought one last sale as well but tried to use Vodafone's unlock system online. Was brought up with a screen to pay them $75 dollars to unlock it, so just went to ebay instead.
Unlock before activating. You'll likely need to enter your mobile number on the second 'I'm having trouble unlocking' page, but don't give them any other info other than your device code. They contact you in a couple of days asking you to try unlocking again - you'll be pleasantly surprised. Don't be scammed by others. Scam Vodafone :-)
They are trying to charge me $75. I was going to enter the email address, as you suggested, but there seems to be no option to do so. Can you help out?
If you've already activated they'll charge either $75 within 6 months or $25 after 6 months. If you haven't activated they won't know who you are and will most likely unlock for free, as they did for me. When you get to the 'Handset Unlock - Handset IMEI Not Found' page on https://unlock.vodafone.com.au/voila/handsetunlock/self-serv… only provide a mobile number so they can TXT you when it's ready to try unlocking on the same page again.
Thanks for that info. I purchased my modem from Dicksmith, haven't activated it, but I don't get the message 'Handset Unlock - Handset IMEI Not Found'. It should takes me directly to a payment page. Any suggestions?
