Optus Price Increases (Mobile and Optus Sports)

Looks like Optus is stinging customers twice: increase in monthly plans (you do have the option of going to a lower plan)

And Optus sport which used to be free if your a customer, started charging $6.99 18 months ago. And now from Aug 1st that is increasing to $9.99 :(

So if you had an Optus plan to bring the default $24.99 a month Optus sport charge down to $6.99…your paying an extra $9 accross the board

When will this stop?
They already lost the champions league to Stan sports

Edit: yes we can switch providers - but Optus are the only ones who offer EPL which is the main reason I was with them

      You cant switch to another provider for EPL football tho. It's the only ones who show it

      Only downside is they don't extend the expiration on it, same date. They wouldn't give you something for nothing these days :(

    such rubbish that these things go up as companies have to 'keep up with inflation' and yet these very items go into the basket of goods for the fraudulent satistic of CPI …

    I have been with Optus mobile for a number of years. Their latest price rises make them uncompetitive in the current market against places like Amaysim and TPG. I rang optus and gave them the chance to keep my business but they couldn't even come close to what others were offering.

    Have you considered buying an Optus Prepaid plan instead? Then buying the Optus Sport addon for $12 for 28 days as you need it.

    I think the price rise to this and the shitty post paid plans make it a good reason to change to a cheaper prepaid provider with an annual optus sport subscription for $200

    I used to convince myself to stay with optus for the epl football even after the data leak and the outage, but now I'm completely disgusted by them. Already cancelled optus sport and I am ready to switch mobile plan once my current plan is ended. Much rather sail the sea than getting price gauged

    I dont really see the value in paying for european football.

    Im a massive fan but lets be real, how many games per season do we actually watch with their timing being 12am and onwards?

      The EPL does have a lot of matches started at 10 pm or so, Ive been watching most Arsenal games for a whole season. Even with some odd times like 3am I can wake up next morning and re watch the whole thing without getting spoiler. They also edit the full match into 25 mins mini match which is also handy
