Where Are You Buying Your Psyllium Husk?

I've been on the woolworths one for awhile, can't seen to find a similar one at a better price though

Slightly cheaper at Chemist Warehouse - $14 for 500g (I remember they were cheaper when we bought them)

Amazon AU does sell 3kg for $82.24 ($2.74/100g)

Remember one time I hate some of this stuff. Laid the biggest turd of my life

That's the idea. And dry wipes.

That's kinda the point….you may need more fibre in your diet.

This stuff, chia seeds and being hydrated are the holy trinity of the no wipe poo.

    Coles & Woolies.

    • Why not Metcash?

  • I just ordered a bunch of these https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B00B8XE15I

I don't like the powder, would rather pop the capsules.

    • I find mixing with luke warm - hot water makes it much more manageable and getting a good swirl going before downing it

      • I guess I could get used to it. It's fun swallowing the capsules though. Makes you feel like an old man taking vitamins and medications every day.

    • Have you tried them before? Or the Metamucil ones? If so, how do they compare?

      • +1

I've never tried the Metamucil branded one. I tried a different brand I found on Amazon, seemed to work okay, if taken in just the right amount at the right times.

I'm not! Should I be? FOMO is striking! What is it? Googling … oh, don't need that just yet, but another thing to look forward to I guess.

I’ve read on the internet this can be used for special date night, whatever that is?

  • Slightly cheaper here https://www.nutgrocer.com.au/organic-psyllium-husks/

But no idea if they have stock, or if they are legit, as I've never ordered from them.

  • Have you tried benefiber?

      No

  • Never had an issue getting it from Coles. Just stock up when it is on special to last until it comes on special again.
Had bad luck with stale products from Chemist Warehouse. Buy cheap, buy twice.

Product is a perfect date breaker: Think you had IBS? Try them husks and you won't have time to see the doctors as sitting on the can becomes the main occupation!

  • I mix this blend with some orange juice, i prefer the taste & it has a similar effect to straight psyllium husk.

Coles Wellness Road Dietary Fibre Blend, 500g for $5.00

    https://www.coles.com.au/product/coles-wellness-road-dietary…

  • woolies macro gentle fibre mostly husk but about ~$5 for ~.5kg
or their husk only is similar price, a bit more expensive than coles but much better not as gluggy

  • Bulk goods places can sometimes be the cheapest for these.

  • I just eat a vegetable.

It may be that you don't need the fibre from psyllium as much as you need a good electrolyte balance.

I switched from psyllium to Ancient Lakes Essential Electrolytes and not only is it cheaper, it is also easier to consume (it's just like salt that you can use in cooking) and the results and benefits are much better. Psyllium can cause abdominal discomfort, electrolytes won't. No mega-turds either. I only need 3-5g a day, which is about 1/2 ~ 1 teaspoon.
