Right side earbud is definitely dead. Tried a few things like factory reset the earbuds, updated the firmware through the Beats app, checked the settings of the earbuds, charging them more. My pair of Beats is defective and I've opened a return request on ebay.

Another issue is that battery looks to drain fast for the case and left earbud. Down 10-15% without doing much with them.

Hopefully everyone else got a better pair than me.

      • I have set up mine and so far so good. Except warranty listed is August 2024.

        • Where was your warranty date listed?

          • @Magicmagic: When you go into Bluetooth settings and click on i icon next to the beats connection, it shows you a list of info. In there you can see the warranty

    • How did you go with the return? I’ve got the same issue. It’s not pairing with the right buds

      • They wanted to repair it, but i pushed for a refund which i got.i didn't trust the earphones quality if mine was not working on arrival.

Check your warranty on this. Mine says August 2024. I have contacted seller and waiting for response. It should be a year from purchase

    • July 2024 - pls let us know seller response

    • What did they say?

      • Still looking into it. Apart from the warranty issue, I am quite happy with the earphones. Let’s see if they resolve it

  • Just recieved it. Haven't opened it yet as i am planning to gift them, but are they real? The box has chinese or some other asian language written on it on the sides. Just wondering if other people received similar packaging, and when opened found them to be legit? As i said i won't be opening them and giving them away as a gift but want to make sure that they are not fake ones. I have seen some unboxing videos as well and they all seem to be different packaging than the one i got.

  • ANC doesn't seem to make much/any difference - working for anyone else?

  • just got it and tbh quality is not that great. Bass quality is terrible - but for this price, I guess no complain

    • How was the ANC - did it make any noticeable difference?

      • it's just OK - not the best.

Nope, not the same serial number

  • More info I’ve found out:
    1) you can register the beats through register beats website. That should confirm if you’ve got s/n duplicate. Mine seemed to go through fine.
    2) I was having issues with sound and was able to fix via going to beats headphone settings on iOS>press and hold>volume control on (can then turn back to off). Unlocked sound restraints for me. Buds are now about 50% louder than before.
Hopefully that can help others out experiencing similar.

  • These are most likely refurbs purchased in China. Here’s why

Got these today in the post. Checked warranty status after seeing these having a 04/08/24 end of warranty. Apple support advised that these were sold in Beijing on 03/07/2023. They have a valid serial number but they are clearly not brand new as advertised.

Anyone who has a similar issues, which will be all of us, can go back to the seller, raise with eBay, down vote on eBay review, go to their respective state-based Fair Trading and complain and raise a case with the ACCC, who track this kind of market behaviour.

    Pretty terrible behaviour from Techciti

    • Mine were sealed and don’t show any signs of ‘wear’. Apple refurbed products aren’t sealed (in my experience to date).
My thoughts are they were a bulk purchase back in August 2023 and serial numbers activated by Apple at point of sale.
Apple AU products do not normally activate until turned on however I guess Apple in other countries may have different rules considering how prominent ACL is here perhaps Apple does not activate AU products until activated.
      I don’t reckon they’re refurbed..

The warranty issue is common across all companies not just techciti. Warranty is activated at the supplier/distribution level when the business purchases the stock. Apple can update the warranty to start at the date of purchase on your invoice provided you give them a copy of your receipt/tax invoice.

Source: my friend works for Apple.

      • Already tried with Apple.

They need a Chinese invoice as these are Chinese stock. Apple were very open about what has happened. I think buying from tech/mobility is a risk, in the past it hasn’t been. They are advertising on eBay Australian stock that is clearly not. My legal friends tell me there is such a thing as false and deceptive advertising

  • Grey import?

For anyone interested, warranty is definitely suss on these. Tried updating the purchase date on Apple Support app and they ask you to connect with a support person. I then spoke to an Apple support person and their senior colleague but was told the actual purchase date is past the timeframe they can modify on their end and advised to discuss the issue with the seller and obtain the original invoice. Apple couldn’t tell me if they were Australian stock either.

The product is probably new and genuine, but it seems these have been bought some time ago hence everyone having the warranty end date of August 2024.
