  i picked up my Z6 in early 2019 for 3000 from JB Hi-Fi with 24-70 F4 + FTZ Adapter + 32GB CF Card + Card Reader lol, why are they so expensive now..

    The Z6III body-only price in the USA is now US$2,500 / AU$3,755… which puts it on par with similar price rises from Sony and Canon.

    On the second hand market you can pick up Z6II + 24-70 kit for about half the price of the new Z6III + 24-70 kit.

      it's borderline competing with used Leicas now, specifically the M240 and SL2-S. Yes, both are very different cameras and arguably inferior in spec in every way possible but Leica colour is to die for.

    So sad Z6iii is so much overpriced. The original Z6 kit you bought was around $2,500 a few times between end 2020 and end 2021, ZF body is sub $3k now.

    Although this has ended, don’t think it was a good deal. If body only cost $3755+GST, you are paying $1100-ish for the 24-70 or $1600-ish for the 24-120, not worth it…

      I reckon they are moving the Z6/7 line up the hierarchy, and let Z5ii fill the gap that was occupied previously by Z6.

      So i expect the Z5ii will cost like $2499 inclusive of GST body only or around that ballpark, with slightly worse build, but keeping most of Z6's functionality.

      that original kit i purchased had to be cheap-ish to attract first group of buyers - same thing with the original Sony A7 line up, i bought my A7R brand new at full retail price in Q1 2024 for $2499 and Sony gave me a free Battery grip and M-mount adapter. today the latest A7R retails for $5k lol.. bit over 4k when discounted.
