I've had nothing but good experiences with JB Hi-Fi warranty. Even replacing a laptop that was outside of warranty. Although, that was only a couple of months out. Not a couple of decades.

"My powerbank purchased from JBHIFI April 2003 just failed on me"

Yeah, I'd be happy with 21 years and 2 months.

1 years and 2 months, I'm sure JB would look after you.

  • What brand?

  • mines just stopped charging

Have you tried a different cable and/or power supply?

definitely always check these, as it can often actually be a cable issue instead

else how long is the power bank warranty, and did you purchase with credit card that gives extended warranty?

It looks like it's just a few months out of warranty. Techically the ACCC says the product should last for a reasonable amount of time… and I reckon a few months past warranty should be acceptable.

Contact JBHIFI and quote what the ACCC says… and if not you can also directly contact the manufacturer and tell them JBHIFI bailed on you (also provide the proof of purchase).

    Good luck.

Note: I always used to buy from a physical store for electronics so warranty is easier… but I'm finding now that these brick and mortar shops will do anything to get out of warranty. And it's not even them footing the bill. If it was me, I'd just send it back to the manufacturer and be done with it. I always buy from Amazon now. Easy refunds years later, no questions asked.

  • What did JB say when you contacted them ?

  • Checked with a few cables just stays green indicator doesn't blink, never thought calling JB since over 12months thought won't honor it.

Walk in, take a new power bank of same brand from the shelf and start a convo with the sales asking how long these should last and about the quality and so on.

After the sales have promised you the moon and stars take out your broken one and say it broke just now so if they could please look into it. If they don't help you go to another JB store :)

  • Good experience. Your case should be straightforward. I returned a USB-C charger after it failed within a year, and they replaced with a new one, no questions asked.

I’ve recently started to buy extra care warranty replacement so don’t have to deal with any crap it’s no questions asked. I do this for big buys , return and upgrade when it’s out of make.👏

  • I was one of the customers apart of the additional warranty saga now turned Class Action.

I did try claim on this "warranty" and was wrongfully denied, now I know why.
