Product description
Vinyl LP pressing. Highly anticipated 2012 debut album from the New York-based singer, songwriter and performer. She has described herself as a "gangsta Nancy Sinatra" and cites Britney Spears, Thomas Newman and Bruce Springsteen as her musical influences. Lana Del Rey's direct influences were visual as well as musical; David Lynch, soundtracks for `50s black and white movies, the whirring sound of the Ferris at Coney Island, fame itself. She lived in a New Jersey trailer park and decked her homestead in flags, streamers and seasonally inappropriate Christmas lights. Like these things she loves, the album sparkles with color and vitality. Includes the hit singles 'Video Games' and 'Blue Jeans'.

@Jimothy Wongingtons: I have Blue Jeans in my regular youtube watchlist.

When my wife walks in on me she pauses and watches it too.

went down to $33.11 just then

    • Amazon US, personally would rather go through AU

      • +1

Appears Amazon AU is sold out.

        • thx updated

Each to their own, but 54 million monthly spotify listeners suggests not.

Imagine Dragons gets 64m… also terrible

    • I thought the song Young and Beautiful was alright (but only after being remixed). Never heard anything from her since then though.

      • +3

She's only had 3 certified platinum and a couple of certified gold albums since then. So guess she's been lying low.

        • Haven't heard anything on radio.

          • +1

@Mondorock: she did a cover of Take me Home, Country roads fairly recently. it's fkn awesome.

          • -1

@Mondorock: That's your problem. Stop listening to the radio.

    • -1

Any reasons for this opinion? You don't like the album cover or something?

      • +2

        I like the font actually

    • +2

I think she's great and has a very individual sound.

    • +1

Please redirect to previous swifty deals.

I’m not a fan but she’s not as bad as Lana

    • Her live shows are actually terrible, not the studio ones.

  • +3

That bio is on of the stupidest things I've ever read, but this is an amazing album. Not my usual genre, but god it's good.

    • So bitter overall, completely shitty with "26 yo retail worker".

It’s you, it’s you, it’s allll for youuuu

36 year old IT guy here, love this album, it's great vibes.

    • -7

I think she needs to lay off of the peanut M&Ms for a while - she's very overweight now (see my above post)

      • -2

Wow that is brutal. Never fear, ozempic is here

        • And your comment wasn't?

      • +2

How petty and starving for any sort of attention one must be to actually say that?

        Maybe try M&Ms instead..

      • Not that a person's weight matters at all, especially a woman who makes music, but you are very wrong about her weight, try and find a more recent photograph of her. You should probably stick to commenting on things you know about.

Thanks OP! Been waiting for a good deal for this one for a while! Lana is my fav

  • Any other deals to pair with this to get free shipping (for non prime users)?

Locally shipped items don't seem to help.

  • Britney Spears and Bruce Springsteen as musical influences, what else to add?

    • +3

All music after Mahler sounds the same!

Great price. Worth alone only for the amazing "Summertime Sadness" song!

But the rest of the album is amazing!

  • +3

Lana Del Ray - very underrated artist indeed.

    thanks @rosebank, great deal!

Nice. Nice. This is squarely on my wishlist of records to own for the record player I don't have. It can go to my parents' house for safekeeping and possible appreciation until I decide to get setup.

Glad I caught stock of this one. Thanks for the post. Please keep posting great deals of great albums!

LDR has a pique-your-interest kind of tonality to her voice. Like you’ll know it’s her music when it comes on, same with John Mayer riffs, Billie Ellish vocals, to name a few more current artistes. No runs or the like, just singing in her oddly mystical voice.

I’ve never known any of her music or actively listen to her, but will add this to my collection at this price. Thanks.

P.S. I lied, her cover of a john denver classic was on repeat until fairly recently.

  • +1

Lana’s songs are so sad tho

    • +3

the sad songs are the good ones. NGL.

  • Do people actually listen to vinyls or frame them and put em on the wall or? Genuinely curious

    • people actually listen to them - although some people buy them to frame.

  • Recommended to a friend and the vinyl arrived heavily compressed and the sleeve was damaged, likely from some sort of impact or poor storage. Unusual for Amazon but at least they refunded them quickly.

  • Mine arrived today from the states packaging wasn't to bad didn't arrive damaged
