they dont, its just as you say, oem rebranded. can be had for a few $ cheap off aliexpress
its all clones of an actual know brand. i cant remember which one, audio technica or JBL or something. One of the ones that makes ipod docks

I'm a big fan of the these guys as an equivalent. Been using them for 3-4 years.
Nice long battery life (longer than 6hrs while in use IMO) and relatively comfortable. They squeeze your ears a little, but that means they don't hurt your ears by weighing them down.
I hate earbuds and most headphones/sets as they tend to be uncomfortable and/or hurt my ears. This set doesn't.
Seem to be many brands of the same appearance - the $38 Laser ones at OW, the Panther, Jaybird or Versus Sync from mymemory.co.uk, etc.
