10 year old tech but still the best by a country mile.

    • yeah I was tempted by a Rii k22S on amazon, great price. Then I read reviews and decided I'd go logitech.. lol

    • K830 is way better

    • I much prefer the "Microsoft All In One" keyboard. They stopped making them a couple of years ago and I don't know if anyone has stock left, but they're very good.

      • The dongle on that one stops my PC from ever going to sleep.

That's odd. I'm on my 4th now (have two more new in box) and have never had that problem. Do you have the "Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center" installed?

          • @GhostofB: Nope. Should I try that?

            • @Kabal: I think so. It will make sure you've got the latest driver installed, which is responsible for the power management of the device. There's a few customisation options in there that are really handy too.

    • How's this 10 year old and still selling like hot cakes??

  • I bought a K830 back in 2016 for $99 that I now use for my Zwift setup and pretty much misuse it and take it for granted… I just googled the model and can't believe how sought after it is - it's like a collector's item!

    • just read this review about it i saw on google… i have one also, it stopped charging or turning on.. this is probably why haha…

Title: It was discontinued and unsupported by the manufacturer. Logitech could have fixed this flaw but didn't.
The Manufacturer Logitech: 1) Discontinued K830 three years and no longer supports it. This product is no longer carried in any computer store in the USA. You can verify with Logitech who will only say its been, "phased out." 2) The K830 recharging USB Micro B female connector has a weakness (Achilles heel) built into this fragile connector and will not hold up to weekly re-charging before it dislodges leaving the unit irreparable and unable to be recharged. If you're fortunate enough to find someone who can repair it, it will cost you far more than the product is worth. Definitely not cost effective.Less

    • Biggest weakness is the micro USB connector. Its the only device i have left that i use regularly without USB-C.

I just googled the model and can't believe how sought after it is - it's like a collector's item!

That because it's discontinued and Logitech never released a successor.

It's one of the only branded keyboard + trackpad combo with a backlit keyboard that great for home media set up. Only other options I can see are Rii Keyboards.

  • heard the tracking pad on this kinda crap.. but not much good alternatives at this price level, if any… bought one anyway cause need for my samsung m60 tv/pc tv hehe

Yep, it's pretty terrible but there are no better options without spending a lot more money.

tbh, because I run my tv off a PC, I mostly use my phone as a mouse & keyboard.
It both surprises & annoys me that manufacturers don't have an option to use your phone via BT as a remote mouse &/or keyboard.

        Like AppleTV does

    Can Vouch,

    GREAT keyboard.

  • I have this for my HTPC… terrific keyboard.
Faultless, and works from the couch 3-4m away from receiver every time.

  • Don't have ebay plus - getting nabbed about $10 shipping - Amazon is a couple of dollars cheaper in my instance at $58 from the official Logitech store.

    • Without signing into my ebay plus account it still shows free shipping. Maybe your postcode?

      • I reckon then! Tasmania which is considered rural for a lot of places.

This was $49 when it was released over ten years ago

    • how much was a big mac back then lol

I was waiting for the buhbuhbuhbuhbut muh inflationnnnn

Yeah no that's not how it works when you're a huge manufacturer like Logitech and you've already paid off the injection molding machines you had made for you in 2012 and the cost price of your consumer electronic product is in the single-dollars

        It's pure profiteering

        • Pretty interesting business proposition to let inflation eat away at your profit margins, I'm sure shareholders would love to hear they're invested in a philanthropic business, not a profitable one. What's to say they didn't plan to amortise the cost of the tooling over ~10 years? Perhaps the moulds are worn by 5 years?

If you wish to enact change against capitalism I guess you could try to compete with them with your proposed strategy. Anyway, keyboard works and was delivered to my door. Happy!

        • It is, but the justification is that the price of materials, labor, etc has gone up.

To be fair electricity, fuel, etc has gone up and it probably has a small effect on it.

Overall though yes - but what are we to do in this case?
