I needed Display Port so i ordered this 27" Samsung from ElectricBay (Shallothead) for $137.08 Delivered (8% off with code SAVB8)

Samsung S33GC 27" 100Hz FHD 1920x1080p IPS 4ms AMD FreeSync Gaming Monitor ( Only difference is that this supports AMD FreeSync - AMD FreeSync is compatible with Nvidia cards too )

    • DisplayPort to HDMI adapters are super cheap though…

      • Using one now.. Its giving me a strange glitch where the screen will refresh every 5 seconds when using remote software like Splashtop to connect… :) so i guess adapters are not always an option.

      • Highly recommend against these. Poorly made (and even well made ones tbh) will often cause display artifacting and other issues. DP and HDMI are different protocols and don’t always cleanly convert across.

This has no display port? What year are we in, 2000? Ridiculous.

  • VESA mount?

  • +1

    wow Super Resolution+ Clarity

  • +7

    Resolution: 1920 x 1080

Nah, thanks but will skip this one.

    • +6

Same, prefer QHD on a 27inch.

    • +6

Agree, 24 inch at 1080p max for me

      • +1

It weirds me out that both FHD 14” laptops and 27” FHD monitors are popular on OzBargain. 24” FHD is blurry when you’re used to that high DPI (I still use FHD 24”)

        • +6

          It's popular because it's $100

          • -1

@scottySK: Yeah it's a good price. I wasn't making any statement about price.

            • +1

@freedomj: But you did question why they are popular on ozbargain..

    • LOL, perfectly valid comment getting negged.

      • +2

Thanks for the reminder - I'll neg it now.

Any recommendations on a 21:9 monitor with a USBC hub and minimal/no curvature?

    • Same here being waiting on a good deal on USBC monitor.

    • Same here

  • 27” for $100, this is cheap.

    • +2

27” FHD looks pixelated in my humble opinion. I think up to 24” in FHD is ok, anything above it in QHD or 4K looks so much better.

      • +3

Been using a 27" at 1080p for years, it looks completely fine.

        • +7

Because you've been using it for years. If you tried a 27 1440p for a week and went back to the 1080p you'd understand. Text is the most noticeable difference.

  • I haven’t bought a monitor in years … is that how cheap some name brand monitors are now? Wow.

    • +1

Last monitor I bought was $900 for 22"

      • +1

        Wow, smoking

      • +1

I think i paid similar for 19inch…long ago..

  • Would an Acer 27" with 1ms be better than the 5ms on this one for about $30 more, does that really make a difference.

    • -1

If you are seeing a 1ms monitor, it would mean it would almost certainly be a TN panel (fast refresh, horrible viewing angle/colour shift) vs this one which is an IPS panel (best viewing angle, good colour reproduction, "slower" refresh rate sure, but 5ms is still fast)

      • Acer KA272 it says it's ips

        • Strange, looks like it's using something called "Visual Response Boost" to achieve what it's referring to as 1ms, as IPS panels to my knowledge dont refresh that fast, not sure if it's legit or a gimmick.

          • @lordezekiel: MSI has 1ms as well and uses MPRT 1 review says MPRT on an MSI monitor when enabled is essentially just flicker backlight. And it will make images appear smoother and have more motion clarity. Its actually a nice technology to use.

      • -1

Do they still sell TN panels in 2024?

      • Unless it's an oled or a 600+ hz monitor, neither of those monitors can hit 1ms response times regardless if it's an ips or tn panel, just marketing lies.

  • +1

Was going to jump on this, however no integrated speakers. FYI for anyone who is into that sort of thing :)

  • -5

Low resolution for that big a monitor - no deal. It is borderline scam.

  • DVI input?

  • good price

  • Sweet. Nice upgrade for my flightsim side screens from the current crappy 22"s

  • +2

So like for those in the comments complaining about not having 1440p can you please point me in the direction of a 27" monitor that is over 1080p for $100?

  • how does this compare to: Lenovo L27e-40 27" Full HD Monitor

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/lenovo-l27e-40-27-full-hd…

    • LG > Lenovo = IPS > VA & 2xHDMI > 1xHDMI

      • -2

I don't think so. VA > IPS imo. IPS has poor black levels.

  • +1

    Anyone had theirs ship yet?

    • No, not yet.

      Is this website legit?

      • They told me it would ship Wed, then this arvo they said it would ship today.

      • +1

        Order just shipped :)

  • Got this yesterday, and sold it today. Those of you who were saying FHD is shit on 27 inch were absolutely right.

I will now never go below 4K.

    • Hopefully better than my two current 22" flightsim side screens
