Can I Save My Return from Being Rejected?

Not sure if this is the place to ask, but I bought a pair of pants, decided I didn't want them and sent them back off, and bought a separate size of the same item without waiting for the other pants to be sent back.

However, they have just received the original ones and say that they're unable to accept my return. My cat must have shed, and the pants would have picked up a couple of hairs. They're saying they're unable to accept the return because of hair on the item and want to send it back to me. Pictures from them.

However, had I have just lint rolled the pants or given them a good shake before sending it off (yes my bad for not thoroughly checking), they'd have never known that there were a couple cat hairs. Is there any saving my return? They want to send it back to me, but wouldn't I just be able to remove the hair and send it back anyway?

Edit: not Amazon or any other fast fashion brand

That's far more than a 'couple of cat hairs'. Without mentioning which store, there's no way of knowing whether you might be able to initiate another return and/or suggest to return to a store if they have one.

It's an online store that doesn't have physical locations

That's pretty bad. Their conditions probably state the item must be returned unused and in a saleable state. These pants are neither of those.

Yeah you should have done a better job.

    Chalk up the L.

  • Damn why did you not lint roll or something before sending that back! So annoying but good lesson for next time.

They were $250 pants too. I'm so dumb

      • Sucks bad man, I have 2 dogs so when I return to iconic I make sure to lint roll everything because they are so picky with returns! Look for any reason to reject a return..

Clean them up and sell them on eBay especially if they still have the tags on. Recover some of your loss. Don't forget to use your fee free listing.

        Next minute:

But I don't have eBay Plus

Well we can't help you if you can't help yourself.

What store? Would have thought Amazon would accept the return anyway.

would you buy these vs the others in the store (if in a physical store?)
You saw the price, bought and ate the steak, the steak was good, you enjoyed it, then later you have steak eaters remorse.
Can you uneat the steak? can you unwear and and unuse the pants.
Looks like they caught you with your pants, well down

      Bad analogy.

… you bought and used the condom, …

    • Well he didn’t eat the steak but his cat nibbled on it

    • More like I looked at the steak, and left cat hair on the plate. Had I have wiped the plate and sent it back it would've been fine. I just tried the pants on and decided they weren't the right size. So by that logic you try on pants and they're automatically used?

Now Schein has become the largest apparel E-tailer
must be all them cat hair making rags shine?

lol that is soiled. if you bought "brand new" clothes and they were covered in cat hair you'd be really peeved

Plan for the future, get rid of the cat.

Why are they so wrinkled looking?

    • They were folded up and sent back through mail, so probably that. Although, I don't remember folding them that badly, so might have stuffed them in the return bag a bit too hard

  • Basically return it in a condition that you would expect it to be if you were buying it as a new customer.
