  I bought a usb 4 enclosure, and a gen 4 4tb ssd and it cost me 300 bucks to make this.

  I get 2700MBs read and write, samsung t7s are rip offs for what you get.

    It's a bit of messing around and hit and miss with the enclosures e.g. not all of them support high speed, if the enclosure fires your ssd warranty is questionable. The self-contained devices has some advantages but yes cost is not one of them
