Recommend Good UGG Place Please

Hello, I am looking to buy UGG mini boots or slippers but all the places that I came across have very bad reviews.

My budget is around $100.

Have you had any good experience with any UGG shop/product?

Thank you

  • Recently went down this road and ended up with a pair of Emu boots that I found cheap on Ebay. The quality is excellent.

Merino craft are also supposed to be pretty good

    • There are a lot of bad reviews on the Emu products. Is there any specific models that they make that are good?

      • Platinum Stinger, haven't had them that long so time will tell I guess.
So far I am impressed with them and I really like the removable arch support insoles.

  • China Town

  • Blue Mountain Uggs: https://uggboots.com.au

I've had several pair over the years from them. With hardwood floors I like their softsole ugg so I'm not clomping around.

    OP
do yourself a massive favour and buy a pair with removable insoles.

that way you can spend $15 or whatever it is to replace the insole when they wear out - really increases the life you get out of them.

re your budget, if you can spend more on a pair that has removable insoles you'll save a lot of money in the long run than buying a pair for $100 and replacing it in a year or two/whatever.

re a brand that I found good (but not replaceable insoles) is Wild Goose. I am looking at Emu brand for ones with replaceable.

    • Why couldn’t one buy cheaper uggs and just put a removable insole on top of the brand new non-removable insole and swap that out when it starts to wear?

      • you can for sure. but i have tried it with mine, and it was far too tight. you really need to get the old one out for it to be comfortable.

It was not usable for me. ymmv

uggs are meant to be fairly snug, not loose. so adding the insole on top of another insole is not comfortable.

More manufacturers could make them removable…. but then they'd lose a stack of money. The ugg boots themselves (excluding insole) will last many years - it's the insole that wears out really quickly.

        • Fair enough. I guess upsizing could be an option for some people, especially those that are between sizes.

          • @mapax: or buy one with removable insoles

            • @bohn: Yeah, but this is OzBargain and saving even just $1 is very important…

              • @mapax: And they can enjoy their loose uggs

                • @bohn: Perfect fit for when buying too good to be true discounted gift cards from the classifieds though…

Any of the smaller remaining ugg boot makers should be ok.

I have an old pair of golden rams mens ugg boot: https://www.goldenrams.com.au/deluxe-boot-chestnut

For those interested in a bit of history involving a (mostly successful) corporate takeover attempt of the name UGG.

  • Don't the fleece in uggs just flatten out over time?

    • the sheepskin often totally wears off in high friction areas so your feet are on the base in those bits.

the rest of the ugg is often fine - but people might need to replace them due to the worn out insoles that are not replaceable.
