Model HP07

Been on the hunt for this model since winter started. Regular price is $999. Dyson's offering it for $894, and Costco has it at $779, which is already a bargain. Almost drove to get one today until I found it on JB Hi-Fi for $688. Available in both colours.

Saw The Good Guys' price check showing $678 as the cheapest, but couldn't locate it.

  • Cheaper with ebay if you have ebayplus with code FYEAR10. Ended up with $619.20 after using the code.

    • Oh great it was $894 before ebayplus discount this morning - I had searched as well

    • Anyone able to find a working pleb/nonplus code?

    • +1

      you are lucky sir !
atm, only 4 left and can't apply this code anymore

      • +3

        It’s FYEAR1A

        • I used this and got it for $619 on eBay. Signed up for an eBay plus account for $5/month.

  • +3

Cheaper on eBay $619.20 Direct from Dyson. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/155515135350?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mk…

Or choose to buy from Dyson Website to get Bundle discount (additionally)

    • Unfortunately the bundle option is not workin for me :( How to get it please? TIA

  • whats the difference between this and HP03?

    • +1

this, is it worth double the price?

      • Yeh, you can get 2 for almost the same price.

  • best portable heater for big room

  • Does this do something like climate control, like i set 20 degrees and it'll heat/cool to suit?
Any decent reviews that aren't dyson funded?

    • +1

No, it's a fan/heater only. Calling it "cooling" is a big stretch

      • so the hot+cool is just cool as in like a pedestal fan?

      • +2

A fan cools, does it not?

It's not being marketed as an air-conditioner if that's what you're insinuating.

      • wow so your buying a $600 heater…..hahahahahahahhaa

        • $600 portable heater that warm a big room or open kitchen in 10 mins.

          • @vinzchang: It can heat at about….. 2000w. The exact same as every electric heater

            • @Ezekiel2320: HAHAHAHAHA so funny!

            • @Ezekiel2320: It works as a strong fan heater which can deliver the heat to the whole room in short time like an aircon.

              • @vinzchang: That's not how thermodynamics works but ok you and the other retard can tell yourselves whatever you want to mentally justify spending hundreds of dollars on a fan heater 🤡🙃

                • @Ezekiel2320: then please recommend a portable heater which can warm up a 30 meter square room in just 10 mins

                  • @vinzchang: 30m² x 2.4m = 72m³

                    Formula:

specific heat capacity of substance x mass of substance x temperature difference

Specific heat capacity of air is 1.006 kJ/kgC

                    Mass of air:density of air at 10C is 1.2466 kg/m3 and mass = density x volume = 1.2466 x 72 = 89.8kg of air

                    Temperature differential = 10C

                    energy needed = 1.006 x 89.8 x 10 = 903 KJ

Power is energy transferred / second. That means, your 1000W space heater can transfer 1000J of energy / second.

903000J / 2400W = 376 seconds = 6.3 minutes to heat this room by 10 degrees with a 2400W heater in a perfect vacuum (ie no heat transfer outside walls and windows etc).

All 2400W electric heaters output 2400J of energy per second.

For "instantaneous" effect, an infrared heater will "feel warm" faster because it transfers the heat to you directly via infrared at the speed of light rather than heating the air in front of you first.

A reverse cycle air conditioner can output 300% heating, so it could deliver nearly 10kW of heating on a standard 2400W outlet.

If you need to go even bigger and faster than that, one would use a gas cannon like this https://www.gasweld.com.au/heater-air-forced-diesel-30kw-ker… which is rated at 30kW.

If you need any more help understanding basic thermodynamics there are many YouTube videos and Wikipedia articles you can find 🙃

                    • @Ezekiel2320: please name a PORTABLE
ELECTRIC heater which can warm up a big room in 10 minutes

    • yes for the heat function

  • Does it worth using than a central aircon?

  • I am not able to apply the FYEAR10 on eBay. Any luck anyone ?

    • Doesn't work for me either.

      • +2

Figured out. FYEAR1A worked for me.

“ Redemption. To redeem this offer during the Offer Period, enter the redemption code FYEAR10 or FYEAR1A into the redemption code box during checkout” eBay terms

        • Nice!! Thanks, will be getting one

  • How energy efficient is this? How long before it becomes more cheap than a $20 kmart footwarmer?

    • If worried, buy one of those mini oil heaters from bunnings for $30, will do a bedroom and only use 1/2 Kwh

  • Its $584 as TGGC

    • $699 for me.

    • +1

It's showing $699 for me on TGGC.
      Dyson HP07 (368801-01 and 379626-01).
Are there different level of acces/discounts to TGGC?

      • I'm not sure I used to be ex-staff maybe that's why.
Up until now I thought everyone had same price. Sorry for the miss info :p

    • I checked, it was 799

  • $699 for me as well.
Any idea on how I can get this for $584?
