[XB360] Xbox 360 Store Closure Discounts (up to 95% off Various Titles) - e.g. Burnout Crash $0.99 @ Xbox

981

Another round of games have just been recently discounted on the Xbox 360 market place prior to the impending closure of the store front on 29 July 2024.

I suspect many of you may have moved on to a future generation of putting up with incomplete broken releases containing constant fixes and updates as well as shoving microtransactions in your face every other minute for you to buy a blue cosmetic skin for an exorbitant price. But for those who like the simpler times before corporate greed got out of control I invite you to go back to a generation of gaming when gameplay, fun and complete experiences were the prime considerations.

Lots to choose from on the list contained in the link - many only 99 cents including Xbox arcade classics such as Burnout Crash (90% discounted) which I easily would have paid a full dollar for based on the hours I played it last night.

Many of these are not backwardly compatible so now may be your last chance to legally access and add them to your backlog.

    Useless Xbox!

Forget about trying to do it through the Xbox 360 console. Have you tried ordering through the Xbox 360 online store through a web browser on a PC?.

      • that's what it showed when I tried to buy through a web browser.

There might be a cookie issue with the browser. Try another web browser.

@hollykryten: Chrome, Edge, and then Firefox. After I clicked the "change Payment Options", the error showed up like

"Uh oh… that should not have happened.
It appears you have found a glitch in the system. Please try again later."

    • yes this is BS. you cant get burnout crash!
      you cant get anything.
the links are for US. so the payment wont work.
tried searching for games on AU site… cant find them.

What are you talking about ?

Just go to the AU site and buy Burnout Crash - https://marketplace.xbox.com/en-AU/Product/Burnout-Crash/66A… - payment works fine.

      • now it works ! just got it for $0.99

        • Not xbox one compatible?

There's still certain games that give me this status error code: 80153048.

Some games I've been able to purchase without issues like Black and 1942 Joint Strike but others like Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 just won't work regardless if I try on my 360 console or via browser. Also tried using store credit as well as a different credit card so I don't think the issue is the payment method.

      BC - Rearmed 2
Same here I got the error

      "Sorry
Your purchase cannot be completed at this time. Please try again."

Many of the good games on this list are significantly more expensive as soon as you go to them on the AU site unfortunately. Fight Night Round 3 is $1.99 on the USA store, but $29.99 on AU for example.

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
Navigate to Profile & system > Settings > General > Personalization > My background > Dynamic backgrounds.
Choose Xbox 360 Blades under Featured or Xbox dynamic backgrounds
Select the background art you want using the A button.

  • This ain't working for me today, is it finally dudded? Tried o buy 2 games and get a few issues, buying on the Android Chrome browser on phone

    • Finally managed to get SFvTekken, not sure why the errors before

  • Anyone have an idea about how this is going to work? E.g., say a game is backward compatible, and the 360 store is shut, so you buy it for your xbox one, will it still show up in your 360 library?

On a side note, anyone know the best way to get point and click adventures running on your TV? There's not that many available on xbox and there's a tonne going cheap on steam et al, wondering if anyone does this?

I've always generally played point and click games on a computer but I believe a hacked wii is a good option to run ScummVM on and makes sense with using a wiimote as the pointer.

As for the first question I hope it still shows up in the 360 library but I am sceptical and only guessing.

Yes if the game is backwards compatible it shows for both your xbox one and your xbox 360 library. If the game isn't backwards compatible it only shows in the xbox 360 library.

Yes you will still be able to download old purchased titles from your xbox 360 library you just won't be able to browse the store for it. Same situation as Games for Windows Live has been in for like a decade.

Best way for point and click adventures on your TV is to just hook your laptop up to it with a HDMI cable, even if the laptop doesn't have dedicated graphics the majority of the point and click games are very easy to run on modest hardware. You can get a bluetooth/wireless keyboard/mouse to use to play it from the couch or something like I have that combines the keyboard and mouse into one easy to use device

The weird yellow button in the top left of the keyboard is actually a left click button so you can use one hand to move the cursor around with the touchpad and your other hand to click which is perfect for these sort of games :)
