Best UPS 2024 for 500-700w Computer Draw (Power Supply Is 850w, but Don't Think I'm Close to Pushing That)

I stream poker on twitch, and losing my computer for even one minute could be very costly. So I'd love to be able to keep my computer up for 5-30 minutes while I scramble to get my games and stream up on a laptop. If it's prohibitively expensive to get 30 minutes, then 5 minutes will cut it as the bare minimum.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a reliable UPS (bang for buck would be great). I have a powershield Defender 1600 which turned into a beeping paperweight at some point, and needs replacements.

I also have a cyperpower little ups which has my smallest monitor backed up to just keep that running and take draw away from the main ups. If the main UPS can look after the monitor, too, the little cyberpower will look after my modem and mesh.

Thanks in advance!

I have been using 2 X CyberPower Value Pro 700VA 390W Backup UPS System for the past ~2 years and haven't had any issues with them

I also have a CyberPower Value Pro 1000VA 550W Backup UPS System, for 3+ years, still going strong

Bought them all at Shopping express while on sale for a reasonable price

    • great to hear an example of something still holding on strong. I'll look out for a solid bargain on them

Buy new batteries for Powershield Defender. I have the 650 version and it was easy to do.

    • outstanding, i've contacted them about a "powershield battery kit" to see if that can recover things for me

      • i bought lead batteries from ebay for my powershield defender.

    Will your internet stay online?

    • yes, one of my internet sources has a tiny ups attached. enough to keep the modem up.

  • I use a single APC SMT1500 for my Nas and two desktops. Make sure you check if you need a pure sine wave model as some power supplies don't like simulated sine wave, and find one with decent sized batteries to handle the load you put on it. My Eaton 5P 850 batteries were half the size and didn't last so it's now in my network rack.
