    anytime now for a129 duo

    • +1

      yup, waiting for it

    • Hopefully, the 229 Plus is too much for my needs. I need a simple, reliable 2CH dash cam

      • on same boat here

    • are you looking for the a129 pro duo? if so, that is also on sale for $251

      • +1

yea , abit too high still ;( 200 or below!!!

    • They also have got VS1from $239.99 down to $155 , and WM from $179.99 to $116.99 by using same coupon code. Didn’t work on a129 duo though.

  • Do I have to pay for gst for this?

    • Local stock, gst included

  • This voucher does not exist when trying to purchase 139 Pro 2ch

    • Just tried and it is applied at checkout

    • Working for me

  • Is it worth going all out on front and rear dash cams or is 1 a119 mini2 enough?

    • +3

Yes, if you can stretch your budget, getting both the front and back covered may turn out to be useful.

  • Is 30fps an acceptable capture rate for these devices? I’ve never used a dashcam. Open to recommendations.

    • +2

I have this dashcam, and only have the choice between 60fps, or 30fps + HDR, I would go 30fps + HDR without hesitation. 60fps mainly helps if you want to slow-mo the footage

    • Go get your eyes checked

  • Anyone know of 4K dashcams that have an external GPS antenna?

My windscreen blocks GPS signals for any dashcam with an internal antenna. Speed always shows as zero.

    • What car do you have?

    • +1

You're probably putting it in the area you're not suppose to? I remember on older euros you have to put tags under the part that has black shading on it otherwise it blocks the signal

    • Yeah, I've got a Land Rover that came with a fancy heated windscreen.

Before I stuck my Blackvue down, I tried temporarily placing it in said area (where the etags can work) and moved it to where the lens can still see forwards, and I thought I had it nailed when I managed to get a speed and location reading.

Stuck it down properly, and have had 0km/h ever since. SMH.

I recall having an old PowerUCC Panorama dashcam which had a separate GPS module on a cable that you could place independently of the camera, but that's pretty old and was hoping some current models would still have that feature.

  • Want to upgrade from BlackVue 2ch

Thinking the 3ch for internal footage?
Or just get the 229 Pro.

Not really wanting to compromise, I'd rather get something decent and at a good price

  • ATL for a229 plus?

  • -6

This deal just listed and VIOFO A229 PRO 2CH already out of stock!
    WTF!
    is this a bait???

    • +1

You are 3 hours late to the party…

        • +5

Sorry mate, indeed bought 10 for my company cars, they are really good unit, use to have blackvue but got heaps problems then changed all to viofo. Hard to come by for this price so pulled the trigger as can claim gst. Not sure how many they stocked for this sale but suggest all my friends to buy as well.

        • -1

wow, so much hate on this, 10 down votes.
          must've struck a nerve.
          I speak the truth though

  • A229 Pro Out of Stock :(

  • A229 Plus also OOS

  • Wanted the A229 Plus, sold out. Damn.

  • Damn. Was checking for this until 7pm last night. Back to ozbargain this morning and the deal came and went. :P Probably have to check ozb more frequently not just twice a day.

  • +1

So fast OOS - what kind of EOFY sale is this Viofo?

    • The kind that gets people to realise their brand exists and go to their website without actually selling too many heavily discounted units, I'd say.

  • +3

when i saw the deal yesterday, there were 11 of the 229 Plus in stock, piss poor for an offical store i reckon

    • Now that you mention it - I always see very limited stock or simply out of stock/backorder on their website, regardless of having a sale. Either poor stock management in Aus or they're primarily shipping out of China.

  • +1

229 pro is available on backorder for more $$, code no longer works for it.

  • A229 Plus Duo back in stock but coupon code has stopped working and they changed price to $272.00

  • +4

Something dodgy here, still taking orders but not honouring the coupon code. So they are "out of stock" if you want a discount, but happy to take your money without the discount.

Agree with the downvoted post above, this reeks of bait. Make it look like there's a great deal, "sell out" instantly then continue to sell at normal price while driving people to the site to sell a few units anyway.

    • +1

Emailed them and got replied only available local stocks get financial year sale discount, back ordered stocks will be fulfilled 1 month later….that’s a bit bugger, lucky for these who have got the local stock with discount tho.

      • So completely artificial then, we need to sell these ones which are completely identical to those ones over there.

        • +1

Plus that 1 guy that bought 10 at once for the GST and tax claim this financial year. People buying like that probably made Viofo Aus think the price is too low and removed the discount quickly.

        • -2

Plenty of companies do this, very normal.

  • that's a good way to annoy your customers.

  • +1

VIOFO aliexpress store has stock. Discount plus coupons at the moment for $40 off $280.
Keep in mind tax is added afterwards, but all up I got the 229 Plus 2CH with HK4 Hardwire kit for $279.

    • Good to know that's an option, but personally would prefer to buy direct, that way if there's issues with warranty, I can directly use ACL as a threat, versus Aliexpress complaints process, which can be more difficult to navigate.
I'm somewhat reluctant to buy individual goods over $100 on Aliexpress, despite having spent hundreds of dollars over the years on that site.

      • I do agree, especially considering VIOFO refused to refund my previous faulty camera. However, I was able to get my bank to reverse the transaction quite easily so I'm not too concerned that if they pull a swifty I have a fallback.

  • +1

A139 pro 3ch is rubbish, got rid of it after numerous issues with the camera just stopped recording, including when I got into an accident, which is when they’re really needed!

  • 119 Mini expired too

  • Coupon does not exist here, expired too quick :(

  • Anyone knows if the Vantrue hardwire kit usb C will fit the a229 pro? Want to change dash cam but dont want to re-run the wires

    • Never tried, but in theory it should work since it has a USB-C port. I use a Power Magic Pro and modified the cable to USB-C and it works with the A229 Plus

      • +1

Ah thanks, i will try if not work i will have to rerun the wites

      • The black vue PMP?

Interesting, I've just pulled mine out and since I'm now keen for a top line Viofo, be good if I can re use it.
        How'd you modify it?

        • Yeah Blackvue PMP. So the important thing to note is that the power wires connect to a "cigarette lighter" style connector, you need to retain this connector as it contains some electronics for it to work (I tried removing this altogether but the dash cam no longer powered on). So simply snip off the mini-USB end, say 0.5 to 1 metre down. Snip off a USB-C cable to the same length (either your own or the one Viofo supplies). You'll need a wire-stripper and soldering iron to join the two wires (red for power, black for ground). Use electrical or Tesa tape to re-insulate your join
