I have the m4 and used to have the M2.
For $600 less get this. The M4 is pretty, and I think it’s great, but really does the same things this does.The only miss is it can’t use the pencil pro, which is better than the pencil 2 the M2 uses. And the difference will increase over time as more apps take advantage of the features. But if you mainly going to use the pencil as a pencil, well doesn’t matter.

Pencil pro is good for graphic designers.
yeah that screen on the m4 alone makes you want to buy it. But the hardware in it is a waste because of the iPad OS, if they find a way to use that power then maybe the m4 ipads are worth it but to be honest it looks like apple arent' do that any time soon. So for now its not worth forking out for a m4 unless you really like oled screens.

Apple Intelligence supports M1 and later, this has the M2 and is a new release. The M4 is an option in the Pro though complete overkill for 90% of people.

Both - called through the national number to check first and they said yes we'll price beat but I didn't want to order over phone. Walked in to store this arvo and did the price beat + purchase there. There was a quick bit of hesitation but telling them I'd already confirmed over phone seemed to help!
