Got this email a few days ago, Josh from StrengthSide has made his book free for a few day's on kindle.
I've followed some of Josh's bodyweight work to improve my BJJ, so hopefully his book is also decent.

But the missus wants me to be more stiff
Reverse the technique to become Less Flexible and More Stiff
Gift it to the missus.
I knew this joke would be here
I came for this too
And me! Was not disappointed!
Is that how you became more flexible and less stiff?
Thanks @artwork! How much did his previous ebook improve your BJJs?
I was a member of his StrengthSide website for a couple of months, so haven't read his other ebooks (if he even has any??) and it did help. At the time I wasn't doing any other S&C work so my improvement could probably be put towards just doing some S&C work lol. I was mid blue at the time (was maybe 3 years ago?) but found benefit in it - Not for an ongoing commitment, but just for idea's on how to program bodyweight work.
Happy to answer any other questions you may have.
Thanks. I'll give it a shot. Anything's probably better than the current stretching I do when getting armbarred…
I've come from a lifting background before bjj which didn't really help with flexibility, but at least I've got the S&C part covered.
How fit do you have to be to start bjj? Is it more of a strength thing or an endurance thing? There’s a studio just opened near my home, I’m thinking of giving it a go.
The spiel is that it suits all body and conditioning types, and because it requires a specific kind of cardio most beginners start at a similar level. In six months you'll be into your stride, so it's best to just get into it than worry about what level you have to be at before you start.
If it's a new academy there's bound to be heaps of spazzy newbies just like yourself, and if the coaches are decent they won't expect you to roll with an experienced grappler on day one.
@GrandMaster: Thanks. I’m not looking to get fit from it, just wondering if I could get one of my neighbour to go (65m with age-triggered diabetes, not qualified for semiglutide). I enjoyed martial arts training in the past, but understand bjj is a completely different thing, kinda intimate, judging by yt videos >_>
@Alley Cat: I started in my late 40's unable to walk around the block. Four years later I still gas during rounds - particularly against younger drilling partners - but my health has improved tremendously and I've lost around 30kg in the process.
The sparring/rolling part of jiu jitsu is mostly high-intensity cardio without the option to stop until the buzzer sounds. And everyone sweats which you soon get used to, just like you do to being in close proximity with someone in sometimes awkwardly compromising positions. You're honestly far too focussed on surviving to worry about getting oil checked or teabagged.
This is the biggest trap I've seen people fall into; Everyone believes they need to be fit to start doing an activity, but then they never feel fit enough, and don't do it. The best way to get fit for an activity is to do that activity.
99% of people lack fitness when they first start jiujitsu, but if you keep showing up you develop it. If it's a good gym everyone will be super chill and help you work to your level.
I'd say go for it if you want to try it and then re-assess in a few months if you feel need to do extra's to get fit enough.
@artwork: Cheers. They told me the first class is free so it’s probably extra nice. Will go on my rest day.

What's bjj? So many acronyms these days and I don't want to look up on Google in case it gives me the naked variety
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu? Not to be confuse with BBBJ…
I guess it's something to do with bj.
No idea, but in the hope that the second ‘j’ might stand for any number of j-based synonyms for willingness or appetite, I have already sent through the link to Aunty Rico…

Can't get the Kindle version from Amazon AU, and if I click to get it for free from Amazon US, it wants to transfer my a Kindle account. Any risks or downsides with this? It has a trap kinda vibe to it.
Works for me. I just click Buy now with 1 click.
Worked for me, 1 click purchase was $0.
On amazon.com.au, it says:
This edition of this title is not available for purchase in your country. Choose an available edition from the options above
I wonder if it's working for others because you've already clicked the magic button to merge your Kindle account with the US.
I've had the same issue in the past.
Follow this https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/help/customer/display.html?node…
Which links to https://www.amazon.com.au/mycd
Then
Go to Preferences and check what Country / Region your account is set to
If you are on the AU site, its better that the Country matches for Digital / Kindle content
@nismo: Thanks. Apparently it thought I was in the US, and now I've changed it back to Aus and could get the book.
For anyone else finding this, that mycd
link above is broken. You can find the right link from going Accounts and Lists -> Manage your Content and Devices -> Preferences
@DeepDreamer: Sorry yeah, wasn't sure if all the links would work but the first link has everything you need anyway.
Good to hear it worked
Same even when using the US link I get error below. For clarity was using the 1 click purchase option
"We're sorry. We're unable to verify your location.
You must be in your country/region to purchase eBooks for others."
VPN to US sorted this for me
Less Stiff in Just 15 Minutes A Day
Takes me a lot less than 15 minutes…
Must be from all the sugar frost corn consumed..
To summarise: Hash will make you more flexible and less stiff.

Thanks OP!
