I've been eyeing this one in store at JB Hi-Fi.

Seems like a great price for a new model.

Noticed the price drop and re-stock at Appliance Central last night. Went in to JB Hi-Fi this morning for a price match.

  • How would this compare to the TCL C755?

    • I can only comment based on what I saw in store. The C855 was noticeably brighter and more colourful than the C755 and C845. I also noticed more blooming in the C755 and C845 than the C855.

      • Thank you. Currently adding up whether it's worth the difference.

    • +6

      755-855 = -100

    • +3

      Main difference are brightness and more dimming zones.

      C855 = 2160 local dimming zones / 3500 nits

      C755 = 1536 local dimming zones / 2400 nits

      • And the processor.

        Other differences:

        C855 has 64GB memory while C755 has 32GB memory
        C855 is 3 star energy rating while C755 is 5 star due to the difference in dimming zones and peak brightness
        C855 is Bluetooth 5.2 while C755 is Buletooth 5.0
        C855 has 2 x USB 2.0, 1 x USB 3.0 while C755 has 1 x USB 2.0, 1 x USB 3.0
        C855 audio output is 2 x (10W+5W) x 1 x 20W + 2 x 5W ( 2.1.2 Ch with upward firing speakers) while C755 is 2 × 15W + 20W (2.1 Ch with no upward firing speakers)
        C855 repsonse time of 6.5ms while C755 is 8.5ms

    just picked up a 50 inch 845 for $400 used. wouldnt of liked to pay much more tbh it doesnt compare to my cs 77 oled.

    • That’s stating the obvious, don’t you think? Mini LED is an excellent performer in a bright room environment but I wouldn’t be comparing it with OLED in a dark environment.

        hahahah this gets downvotes but nearly every time someone posts one of these minileds people are saying there as good as oleds.

        • That’s a fair comment, OzB does seem to have a strange obsession with TCL. It comes down to what you need the TV for. There’s no doubt they’re great bang for buck but comments like that are simply not true. When Micro LED hits the market, that’ll be a different story.

  • Just hopefully they've finally figured out how to control and use the dimming zones effectively rather than just playing the number's game, it's not like the TV is particularly cheap either.

    Has anyone been able to compare this alongside a 2024 Sony Bravia 7 miniLED?

  • $2420 for 75" seems pretty amazing, think I'll have to order that.

  • Dropped down to $1875 then sold out tonight.
