    24 1.8 looks fun

    • The 16mm is tempting but for $200ish the 20mm F2.8 is calling out to me.

i always found 20 to be this funny spot…like its not wide enough for W I D E (like 16mm) and it could do with a bit with a bit more reach like a 24…

        • +2

I also agree, it's usefully wide, but not always impressive like 14-16mm with that amazing perspective.

This is an absolutely fantastic lens, don't let its price tag fool you.

    • do you know if there is any good reviews for these?
I'm a bit of a lens snob but am about to move across to Nikon Z mount with the new Z6iii which will be announced today

      • +2

        Did you try googling them?

Phillip Reeve and Dustin Abbott have reviews of these lens with samples and criticisms too. There's a lot more reviews out there too.

        • ha ha of course I didn't. Dunno why

However, it now comes up on my feed and looks good

@slipperypete: I ended up getting the 20mm from Aliexpress. Could have gotten the 16mm for a bit cheaper than here with the $80usd code but it's now expired. Might be worth waiting if you're keen for this or another amazon deal.

              @Caped Baldy: Hey

I was looking at the 16mm Z but I have a Samyang 14mm. As I need to get the adaptor for other lenses it'll be just fine.

Apart from that these really look very good. Hope it goes well for you.

      which? the 16 or…

Look at Christopher Frost review. You can compare all lenses there on a standarzised chart. This lens is basically 99% the optical performance of the 14mm 1.8 GM. Obvious shortcomings, heavier, larger, non-native, not as wide. If that doesn't matter to you, this is a complete no-brainer.

  • Looks like the sale applies to most (all?) of their lenses once in cart, so it's not just the E and Z mount lenses.

  • Thanks. I am interested in this one: Viltrox AF 24mm F1.8 Full Frame Lens For Nikon Z-Mount

The listing says "It features lens IS stabilization", but I am not filled with confidence. Nothing on the body says IS or VR. Can anyone confirm this?

    • This website says it does not. https://www.pergear.com/blogs/news/review-of-viltrox-new-af-…
And the Dustin Abbott review doesn't even mention it.

I'm going to say it doesn't and better hope your camera has IBIS.

      • Thanks. My Nikon doesn't (z50). Tricky to find primes with IS, let alone affordable ones, which made this very appealing if the listing was right.

  • I'm looking at the 75mm which historically on Amazon went as low as $670 with next day delivery. Currently at $706 on this deal with few days wait shipping from China. So tempted but I should wait

    • I'm in a similar boat, could possibly claim TRS and get the benefit of Amazon's customer service.

      • Just be mindful that they might not have GST if it's coming from China so you can't claim it. The viltrox reseller on Amazon does from memory

  • "Free shipping from China. Import duty & GST payable on goods valued over A$1000."

I think you will find that GST applies to any o/s online purchase now (not from $1000 up) as suggested in the title description above. Debatable if you save much compared to JYPhoto-AU store on Amazon if you have to pay the GST.

I've had my eye on the 27mm F1.2 E-Mount (Sony) lens recently… when I saw this deal it wasn't included, however looking at my cart today and sure enough it's discounted a decent amount as well. Ordered!
