I wouldn’t buy a tv at this price point without it. Samsung lost the HDR fight years ago, they should implement DV in their TVs.
Even my TCL 43" C645 TV has DV at a fraction of this price. It made a good bedroom TV. How this TV doesn't have it. I found basically all content on Apple TV+ takes advantage of DV if the TV has it. But Apple TV+ also uses HDR10 if the TV only supports that.
Agree, shouldn't be a deal breaker.
Alreast it supports HDR10+ which many streaming services take advantage of.
Also, people need to understand that it will fall back on HDR10+ when playing DV content and that looks perfectly fine IMO.
What's DV?
Dolby Vision
Bought the S95c a couple of months ago for ~$1850. Is this much better?

The Samsung S95C OLED and the Samsung S90D/S90DD OLED are very similar, but there are some minor differences. The S90D has better processing, so there's less banding in colors and fewer artifacts present in low-quality content, and it does a slightly better job at upscaling low-resolution content. The S90D is also a tad brighter in HDR, so highlights pop a little bit more on it. However, the S95C comes with Samsung's Slim One Connect Box, so if you need a versatile way to plug in your devices, it's the better option.
Do you think this the TCL 65" C855 QD-Mini LED would make a better choice at $1,890 + delivery. It does feature Dolby Vision and IMAX.
Depends on your use case. For a dark environment, it doesn’t stand a chance against OLED. Bright environment, the Mini LED would ruin the OLED.
Yes I guess the contrast is probably better on the QD Mini LED. OLED isn't known for best contrast. Only the OLED would have better black. But that isn't everything. But the QD Mini does have local dimming zones so that helps.
OLED has superior contrast due to its self-lit pixels giving it a near-infinite contrast ratio. Have a look at RTINGS, every OLED TV scores a 10/10: https://www.rtings.com/tv/tests/picture-quality/contrast-rat…
