Sparesbox are a drop shipper. You won't get your item in any reasonable time.

Yep, waited 3 weeks with no communication from them even though I had an estimated delivery window of 4 days on ebay. Annoying

    • That's fair, if you need one straight away you can get a rockwell or a toolpro for a little bit extra at supercheapauto.

I think it varies by item and location. I've probably done 20+ orders with them with a wide range of products and all but one of them has arrived within 3-4 business days.

I've used this polisher, one thing to note is that 9mm throw distance is very small which means it takes longer to complete a given area and you lose some of the benefits of getting a dual action polisher in the first place. That being said it's totally fine for personal use.

I still firmly believe that the fixation on dual action polishers is completely unnecessary and is just caused by the detailing youtube ecosystem regurgitating the same beginner tips over and over. There's nothing risky about a rotary, literally just use some combination of a larger+softer pad, lower speed, less pressure and less abrasive polish. You can find them used for $20-30 (including from cashies) all the time and they'll do the job faster.

You can have your car fully clayed, polished and sealed for $100.

    • What cutting & polish compound do you recommend? I'm thinking MEGUIARS Ultimate but is there an alternative you recommend?

Also I'm mainly buying because of my bonnet getting a "spray on shield" gunk that won't come off and the second hand stores near me only have those round Rockwell polishers that aren't reviewed well and are being sold at supercheap for $30 anyway.

Yeah, and I remember watching a testing video on YT where they tried to burn paint using a rotary and a dual action, both with the pad flat on the surface. The dual action burnt the clear coat, whereas the rotary did not.

    • any recommendations for pads to use and product ? i have a cheap rotary here never used it as I was worried about ruining my paint…
