In Greece for 3 Months and Just Need a SIM with Data on It, What's My Best Option?

Hi OzB Community,

Like the subject suggests, heading to Greece next week for 3 months and all I need is a SIM card so family are able to call me but all I need is data. The recharge options in Greece are a nightmare, I was wondering what options I have from Australia?

Here in Australia I'm on Optus prepaid.

Thanks in advance!

Move to amaysim. There is plenty of amaysim eofy sale on atm. Buy the $50 roaming, 6 gig ( you did not say how much data you need) or $70 for 9 gig, last 365 days is probably the most cost effective for you.

  • Boost/Telstra supports free vo wifi . So anybody can call on your local device for free if you are over wifi

    • Boost one was hit and miss for me for calls/sms… Ended up just using Skype.

  • Hi my mum is in Greece atm. She has joined up with Vodafone which is one of their best value carriers. You can get a sim card at the Athens airport easily just by giving them your passport details.

  • Do you have a dual sim phone? Used it as an option twice last year, once in Greece and once in Canada. Kept my Telstra sim on with data off and got phone calls and text messages. Then just got an esim with data only through orange in Greece and airalo in canada and it worked great.
