Segway Ninebot Electric Kickscooter E2 - Black $447.10 ($435.93 eBay Plus) Delivered @ Sydney Mobiles eBay

Every time I go back to the beautiful city of Adelaide without a car it does my head in. Public Transport from Glenelg to Fullarton on a Sunday afternoon? That'll be two buses, a combined half an hour wait, who knows what method of payment will be accepted, and a total trip time of two hours. So I started thinking about buying an eScooter, and impulsively bought this which seems to be a good deal. The range of only 20 km might be too low for some, but one thing I have learned about range with my eBike is there is rarely a destination I'm going to where I can't charge. Before you ask, "why not just ride your e-bike?", I'm waiting for a secondhand rack to be available so I don't have to spend $800 on that.

I found this review really helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrs2vm22Ew0

3% cashback via Top Cashback too.

Should I run the gauntlet with the authorities for the next six months or wait until they finally change the laws? https://www.indaily.com.au/news/local/2024/02/20/south-austr…

  • Wish these were legal in NSW :(

    • They're not legal in SA either but cops seem to generally look the other way.

      • Ride these sensibly and show the public they are not a danger to anyone and a useful addition to commuter transport options.
Pity some lowlife thief ripped off mine from a shopping centre car park and disabled a very expensive lock.

        • Expensive != Good

    • I see alot of business people riding and walking with these in the station past cops, they don't seem to mind as long as you're not being a d*ck head with it and have a helmet.

That being said, I also know someone who got slapped with a $1k fine for riding an unregistered vehicle.

  • I remember reading about a clown riding one down Marion Rd in peak hour getting fined for driving unregistered and unlicensed. I think it is the classic case of if you don't draw attention to yourself you won't have any drama. Years ago I used to see the same people each day cruising to the city through Victoria Park on them.

$13.13 just tracked from Top Cashback.

  • Anyone know the battery make, voltage (V) and capacity (Ah)?

    • Extremely underpowered scooter. Only 24v. The pro version is 36v. I need at least a 48v scooter to hill climb properly.

        Thanks mate

        I'm 100+ kg and had a 70V 25Ah which worked wonders.
Just trying to get something I can safely leave at shops, work etc

        This is not the option

      • Seems a bit unfair to neg a deal because it doesn't suit your needs.
The scooter only costs $436, you can't get a high powered scooter for under a $1,000 that is similar quality to this scooter.
If you go to the Segway website and look at the photos and blurb it's clearly marketed to the much younger rider on a tight budget.

        • I can find higher voltage and better built scooters for similar price or less than this. Yes you can.

          • @mrvaluepack: Any recommendations?

            • @Redoctober00: I've come to realise to just pay attention to the voltage of the battery/system and ampere hours (AH) of the battery. Dont bother about the wattage or watts. Anything with 48V and above is ok and the AH rating is dependent on how far you want to travel.
