Does anyone have the xgimi play 3 projector. It seems it is a Chinese only version but with similar specs to the halo+ and as a result is less than half the price.
It seems that the android doesn’t really work with western apps, but can just use a dongle.
Just wondering how comparable it is as I can’t find any review on it.
How do you figure?
Halo+ and play 3 have 900 ansi lumens
Mogo 2 pro has only 400 iso so 470 ansi lumens, only half as bright
Look at the size of the DMD chip, it plays a huge role in picture quality. Also take the Chinese variant brightness with a grain of salt. Lastly Halo + is 700 ISO for Aussie variant.
Xgimi are the ones rating it though, would presume consistency.
I see there are a few values given for the halo. Interesting about the dmd chip, that both don’t properly do 1080p they use temporal dithering instead and that the halo has a bigger sensor so therefore less dithering.
@Ozbfan: China market is less forgiving to inflated advertisement.
Even Xiaomi over sells their lumens in China almost by edible the amount.
Also curious on this one. I thought it was the same as the Mogo Pro 2+.
Couldn't you just flash it to an international version?

I've received it, and it doesn't have a rechargeable battery, so I will return it.
the picture quality is good, you can watch it while the room has a light, the sound is great, and you can use a power bank >65W to power it but I didn't test how long it will last.

The play 3 is similar to the mogo 2 but has CN software, so it has better brightness and sound.
So all depends on what you'll use it more, if for home, I'd say go with play3 and android stick. if you're planning to use it mainly outdoor, then the mogo pro+ would be better.

No battery but it will work from an external 65w battery
it's closer to mogo 2 pro+ rather than helo, so only a saving of $200 or so
wait for a sale and they difference is even less
