  • Is this region restricted in terms what games it can play?

    • UK is same PAL region as Australia, and live subscription can be applied on Australian account. The only problem is you need a alternate power cable as UK has different Pins on power socket, but any normal computer power cable will do.

    • No - there are no regions on games. It may have issues with DVDs, but I'm not sure.

      • XBox 360 does have region on many games, not all. It's the PS3 that doesn't have region on games.

        • Isn't the only 'region' restrictions NTSC and PAL? Hence why all UK games work on Aussie Xbox's?

        • +2

Yeah there's NTSC and PAL, and a PAL console would be good for local purchases. It's not region free for games however in the sense you can't buy this and then order blindly from the US and hope every title will work.

        • True, but the PS3 doesn't have the NTSC/PAL restrictions? I don't have a PS3 so unsure! Off topic of this I know but I'm interested :-)

        • Don't think of Xbox 360 games as region coded, it's no different than buying a US Blu ray , sometimes there region free, sometimes they're locked. People just import from the uk for piece of mind, but getting dlc for a NTSC game can be easier on the 360 than the ps3 can. Play Asia is a good source for compatibility info, but it's not always helpful

        • PS3 DOES have regions on games. All games will play on PS3, however you would need a PSN account from the country you bought the games for downloadable content.

        • RE: PS3

The PS3 hardware has 13 regions, but 99% of games are region unrestricted. A games region can be seen on the back cover: black square with a little world sphere and the region number inside.

DLC content and other PS3 features from the PS store is limited by region. I am unsure as to weather the game disc has to be from the same region the PSN account/PS3 hardware is from to get the correct DLC, I suspect it doesn't matter. Personally I have never had an issue accessing DLC for games bought from the UK/Europe.

Australia is 'the same' as the Europe for nearly everything (the old PS store used to occasionally give prices in GBP).

As far as I know, only 2 games have included region restriction (which they did themselves): Persona 4 Arena & Ghost Recon: Future Soldier (players have to have matching region consoles to play coop (but normal MP is unrestricted)).

  • Is this a website glitch? The bundle deal is listed here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.html/ref=amb_link_1620484…

From what it says there, the game and live membership should cost an extra 20gbp, not bring the price down further than the console on its own. I wonder if they will honour this?

    • I have made a order, and it is £142.8. Please using "go to deal" link and you will see the details.

      • That'll teach me for just clicking on links in the description. Cheers.

    • It's probably due to removal of VAT (20%).

  • Great deal. I just spent a lot more on Halo + a new Xbox :(

    • If you got the halo 4 console, keep it in good condition and sell it at some point to a halo mark lol

  • +2

Confirmed working i am at last stage of deal and fighting it since i have 2 xbox 360 already

  • confirmed can get discount on xbox, live card, halo and fifa 2013 (although shipping price increased by about $5 aussie)

  • OK, this actual deal from Amazon.co.uk is:

Buy a Selected Xbox 360 Console and Get Halo 4 and Xbox Live Membership FREE, Black Ops 2 for £30, as well as a Selected Game for £20 (FIfa 13, Dishonored, etc).

Total for this package is £231.75 shipped. That makes is about A$353 (depending on exchange rate). Note that you can just opt for the Console, Halo 4 and the Live membership as per the OPs deal. The rest are add ons with decent value.

Is that a good deal? Yes.

    Assuming local prices:

HN Xbox 250GB console + COD Black Ops 2 = $348 as per http://www.harveynorman.com.au/xbox-360-250gb-call-of-duty-b… (I couldn't find any prices online for just the console only).

For $348, this means that Halo 4 ($69 at JB), Fifa 13 ($69-79) and 1 year of Gold Membership ($50 value) is FREE! $200 bucks worth of stuff free means console is about $70 considering Black Ops 2 is $79 in shops. Bargain.

A pity I already have a Console and Halo 4!

If I do an order, anyone want the console and Halo 4 from this bundle to save $$$?

Fleabay is your friend. I don't see why you couldn't get ~$200 or even more if your lucky.

    • +1

Or to get even more games, get the "Xbox 360 250GB Console: Includes Forza 4 Essentials Edition and Full Game Download of Skyrim" and with the Live, Halo 4, Black Ops II and Fifa 13 for £227.94 (~$363.59). Much better deal I say! That's if you don't already have those 2 extra games…

I have one of the old fat Xbox's with HDMI, and if I could justify it I'd be all over this deal. Could use the extra controller too :-P
      Must…resist..temptation..

      • I couldn't get this price! The Forza edition is £30 more than the regular 250GB edition.

Very nice, ordered though I have a 360 black (not slim) already.
    $227AUD

  • Just a few days ago I was thinking it would be silly to buy a new console (Xbox 360/PS3) this late in their lifetimes, but this offer has got me seriously considering it…

  • That is a crazy deal!

  • The console is now listed as out of stock. Ozbargained?

    • Yeah, but you can still order now and they will still honour the price.

  • How long would this take to deliver to Australia?

P.S. Is this still even valid?

  • holy moly! nice deal!!!

I'm waiting to see what ClickFrenzy throws up in terms of Xbox 360 console deals tonight…

    • Doing the same…hope they have some mad deals and that click frenzy doesn't turn out to be a dud!

  • Hmm deal not working for me… Added the Xbox, halo and live that we're all listed above, comes to a total price at checkout of GBP196.95 ($315AUD), including shipping. That is at the final checkout window after I've added my address etc, shipping is GBP14.46.

  • Think the deal is over. The deal landing page only says:

Buy a Selected Xbox 360 Console and Get Black Ops 2 for £30, as well as a Selected Game for £20

Also, I had it in my cart for the deal price last night and today, it went up to £196.
