All time low according to DekuDeals.

Have heard nothing but good things about this game, well worth adding to the backlog at least at this price.

    civ 5 is better lol

Doesn't run very well on Switch, though.

      • +1

Yea seconding this. Great game on PC, however on Switch reviews note how long the loading times are. Especially if you're playing with DLC and a map size > small

        • +3

Civ V isn't on switch. That was the joke.

          • +2

@Faro: Apologies for my tunnel vision, meant CIV VI, no need to downvote

    • +1

Well Civ 2 was the best

  • Great game, well worth the price!

  • Hows it run on switch?

    • Slightly laggy if you're playing a game with 6 or more players. But smaller games are pretty good. Keeps me entertained on long flights - i'd say its worth it if you're into the Civ franchise

      • It gets even laggier + longer waiting time for AI if you add the DLC.

Civ 7 teaser trailer had been released. Game coming next year.

    • +4

You'd still get your $4.79 worth out of this if you buy it now to tide you over until then.

      • +2

I spent 4.80 on a terrible coffee today. I will get a lot more from Civ VI than I did out of the cup of steaming disappointment!

  • +1

I always torn between buying a physical game or soft copy. This game I can get on Gumtree $20, but $4.79 is a good price.
    Your thoughts?

    • +2

I always aim to get physical, but when it's so dirt cheap like this I'll just grab it digitally.

Just depends if you're interested enough in the game to spend the extra $15 to have it physically. Plus digital has the convenience bonus of just booting it up every now and then whenever you like.

    • +2

There are pros and cons for each. Being able to resell the physical game is handy, especially Switch games with reasonable resale value. Switching cartridges is annoying. Being able to use physical games on any Switch is good. With digital games with the right setup you can play on two switches at the same time. It can be nice having a physical game library, you can see what you have and the details (I use Deku Deals to keep track of my library so I can do this with digital and physical games), but games are unnecessary clutter. When the Switch is no longer current digital games will just disappear, but you could still sell the physical ones.

I tend to go with digital for most of the games that go 75-90% off or games that I'll want to play across 2 Switches and physical for first party games.

      • Thanks for your opinions. do you ever digital and physical of the same game?
Sometimes I have this feeling, oh gosh this is legendary game, "I want to play it again and again in the future", so I bought Diablo physical and digital.:D

        • +1

Nah, I'm a pretty casual gamer and lose interest quickly. I'm all for doing what makes you happy though and it doesn't seem like a waste of space or money if it's something you enjoy that much. I have too much stuff and not enough house so I'm trying to get rid of what I can and games are something I can have as a digital thing without taking up space or really losing anything.

  • Love the game, but regularly crashes for me on Switch (have a physical game card and all the dlc)

      Thanks, updated :)

  • Amazing game! Well worth 4 bucks. The expansions are really good too - Rise & Fall and Gathering Storm if you want to spash for the platinum edition.

    Same price on xbox

I wonder if this will free upgrade to switch 2

  • I play civ iv way to much. I like the interface better than civ v.

  • I've never played this franchise. I used to play AoE. Is this any good? I will steal my son's Switch if so.

    • +1

Just be aware that this is a turn based strategy game, compared to AoE which is a real time strategy game.

  • $4.49 on Steam, or $3.49 on Humble Store (or $2.97 if you are a Humble Choice subscriber)

  • Played on my ipad
Great game.. haven't dug deep into it. I should spend more time.
