  @WookieMonster Can the Special Card for Woolworths be used to purchase gift cards at Woolworths? I'm guessing it's like a Visa prepaid card but locked to Woolies so should be able to buy 3rd party gift cards from Woolies?

  Purchased a Special Card for Woolworths to be emailed to myself. But didn't receive the gift card immediately. Instead, got an email that says my order "is currently being reviewed. We will provide an update within 1 business day."

  Guess that means should be your Special gift card a business day in advance of when you think you might need it, as there can be a delay of up to 1 business day…

    I'm having the same problem.

    Despite Amex giving me this offer, the Special site is continually saying "Card Declined" for my Amex card, even when attempting it using Apple Pay. I spoke with the Amex live chat and they confirmed that no charge attempts are reaching their system, so it looks like something to do with Special's anti-fraud stuff misfiring or a general problem with their site. I've sent them a message to ask what the issue is, but I needed the card tomorrow so I may not hear back from them in time.

    This is my first time using Special, and it isn't a good first impression.

      Update: I tried again yesterday morning and the transaction worked this time, but the order went into a “Pending” state.

      That afternoon I had to buy the item I’d intended to use the gift card for, so I ended up just buying it directly. I figured if the gift card (a JB Hi-Fi card) did eventually get issued I’d use it for something else later.

      This morning I got an email from Special saying they’d cancelled the order:

      “Unfortunately your Special Card for JB Hi-Fi order for 90sftw has been cancelled. Pending charges for this order will be returned to your chosen payment method.

      If you would like to order again please use a different payment method.

      Stay Special!”

      So that was a waste of time. At least it appears you can delete your Special account.
