One of the cheapest prices I believe for the creator combo, and they didn't jack the price before the Zip sale either! I ordered one for myself earlier today.

As of writing there are only 3 left at Mobilciti eBay and one on the Official DJI eBay, hurry before the stock runs out!

  • Bought the Pocket 3 late last year, a great device for travel and taking selfie videos and reels

    • I stand corrected, now I'm sad I missed that deal. :(

  • +1

I want this but I dont need it haha.

  • Still waiting for the standalone version to drop to $768, it happened prior to release and never since then. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/831131

I guess the hype around the camera has made it hold its value, it gets really good feedback on youtube.

    • I initially bought the standalone version (due to out of stock of the combo) but then bought the combo afterwards and sold my standalone
The combo gives way more value especially on the wide-angle lens and DJI mic 2
The mic 2 itself already worth the price difference

    • That mic you can sell it for at least $100~150.

    Just use your phone

    • I do use my phone for broll but my phone doesn't have tracking, a gimbal and a 1 inch sensor for low light.

      • Ive found iPhone 15 max pro using Blackmagic app and apple pro res/Apple log in a smallrig with rode mic + accessories to be the best, no need for a gimbal and records to micro sd card bypassing the phone storage all together

        • You are using a lot of software for what can be done natively with hardware on the osmo pocket. You cant really compare this to phone cameras, they are for different markets.

Phone camera people just want click and shoot
Osmo pocket users want enthusiast level content creation

        • There are many use cases of pocket 3 that a iphone 15 pro max cannot do
such as motion tracking and physical stabilisation
its also very handy to use pocket 3 to do selfie videos while you have a live screen to see the footage
while you would not like front facing camera to do the same stuff in iphone

        • As ridiculous as it sounds, I need my phone as a phone. I've got the same phone and thought about doing the same thing, but it's not the same experience. You need to get a specific case, so you can use ND filters, you need to add a shotgun mic or add on a receiver, you don't have any hardware controls for the camera. By the time you rig everything up, you can't even use your phone as a phone, I might as well just take out my Sony DSLR.
Phone cameras are good for point and shoot snaps, and it's normal to take photos/videos with your phone. Once you rig up a phone though, it looks more ridiculous than using a pocket 3, or dslr. It's like those people that use iPads for their camera. The iPhone camera system needs magnets so you don't need to rig up your phone if you want to use ND filters.
For some reason (probably my lack of knowledge), it always has the HDR look especially with my skin tone (dark) so the colors in Apple log are not how I want them. Not sure if Apple log always shoots in rec2020, but I just want 24fps rec709 SDR, I hate HDR and I hope it has the same fate as 3D. If I wanted myself in the frame, I'd have to just shoot and hope for the best as well if I wanted to use the main camera for the best image quality.
What is the cost of an iPhone 15 pro max? 2k starting price? Pocket 3 is $850 on its own. I would rather lose/damage a Pocket 3 than my phone especially if I'm on a holiday overseas.
I'm not trying to rain on your Parade or anything so hopefully no offence. Just the thought process I went through, when I landed on buying the Pocket 3. I think phone cameras are good, but really only shine for being the camera you always have with you.

          • @marcs: I’m the opposite though. Now I’ve built the rig it’s kickass and super convenient. I use to use full canon DSLR full frame setup that weighed a ton and have to charge so many accessories, now everything runs off USB C and a battery pack. Rig looks serious and no one is going to question using an iPhone to film professionally. I don’t film in low light or need 4-8K so it works. Plus it’ll stay compatible with next phone upgradesz

@UberIsCool: We all have a diff creative process so I’m happy it works for you. We are really spoilt for choice today with things from phones, to dslr and everything in between.

  • Pocket 2 is kind of comparable and I got that over this and don't regret it. The 3 is great for flipping the aspect ratio but the price is hard to swallow Vs the features.

  • I’ve had this for a month and I absolutely love it. I bought the creator’s combo but I don’t think you need it. I ended up putting a ulanzi pk-06 expansion kit on it, and a sunny life gimbal protector. I use the insta 360 114cm selfie stick.

Storage case is super tight. I use it but hardly have my camera in it.
Hard case was good for a bit but I no longer use it. It works, just always knock the gimbal when putting it in it out.
The wide angle lens is not that much wider and it adds distortion. I never use it.
I use the tripod stand on a selfie stick but it is pretty sketchy stability wise.
The mic is awesome. So nice not having to worry about a receiver.
The battery grip is also awesome. Not only does it charge your pocket 3 on the go, it makes it ergonomic to hold, and what I do is have a different mount screwed on to it than the normal grip. It enables me to quick swap different quick release systems.

  • Damn would love to get this but the price is just way too high for me :(
