  • Anyone using this around the hills NSW area and having trouble with the network especially in castle towers, I got no connection at all.

Previously was with Vodafone network And i have no problem at all, and committed to boost for a year thinking that it should have better connection with 5g+ but no, now I I have to wait a year before changing network

    • You should have tried a cheap sim first to see what's going on in the area before committing for a whole year

    • Not true, can always lodge a complaint with Boost. That’s what’s I’m going to do. There is absolute no useable data around Castle Hill. It’s getting worst.

    • having issue with both mine and my wife's boost sim. Zero signal at Lv 1 food court.
      Upstairs are fine.

      • My guess is the Telstra network is overloaded there as I have the same issue with my work phone (Telstra 5G) and have issues when the place is crowded. It's better when I go during quiet times.

        • Called boost, they mentioned they are aware of the issue for Castle Hill and it’s been happening for quite some time. They are “working” on it

I noticed it improved slightly over the weekend.

  • Code doesn't work

"Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again".

Have to use zip to pay

      • Never mind, I don't have Zip.

  • Can you confirm if this sim can be used as a recharge? Mine expires on 11th June

    • I can't.

      on activation for new customers.

    • I'm in the same boat. I believe you have to port out to another provider, then port back with a 'new' account on boost. I think you can get it done in an hour or so. $2 SIM from voda, or Kogan or something. I haven't tried it, but read that this is how other people do it.

That's a lot of work, is it worth saving $49?

My experience is that their agents treat you like crap now that they have a policy to not recharge via SIM.

During the recent drone show, I had zero reception and no internet in a crowded area, boost sucks. So I am thinking

        • Yeah I've got 17 days left. I'll probably just recharge. I haven't had any problems with boost, they are essentially Telstra, but I suppose they can prioritise Telstra customers when they need to.

          • @CaffeinatedTech: Just wondering if the cashback options apply for existing users. If so, CashRewards are offering $50 cashback for the $230 SIM whereas ShopBack are offering $40. Not sure if anyone knows the answer.

            • @kiriakoz: The cashrewards one states new SIM (account) only. People have said that boost will no longer allow you to recharge with the code from a new SIM.

              • @CaffeinatedTech: Thanks for clarifying. I was trying to help, but I appreciated I was probably being hopeful.

          • @CaffeinatedTech: Really isn't that much work, I do it for 3 accounts every year and for the saving over the Boost lazy tax I think it's worth it.

Vodafone service is good for the 3 accounts I manage so I usually buy a one month prepay plan Kogan/Vodafone direct for each and port them over.

For porting purposes, I recently picked up 2 x Voda 40GB (1000 mins Zone 1 international talk / 100 mins Zone 2) prepaid plans for $7.49 each on eBay - I'll port two numbers over to Voda for the month and then move them back to this Boost deal for another 12 months.

        • Maybe you mean full signal but internet was not working when it's very crowded during recent drone show? If Telstra is like that, I am sure Vodafone is worst when it's very crowded like new year's eve.

          • @neoleo: There was no reception, internet is another story lol

        • I did it last year. Got an Aldi sim, ported out then in, each time it only took a couple of minutes but I guess you can't count on it being that smooth every time.

          • @doughnuthouse: Had this happen moving from Boost to Coles (Optus), Coles where an absolute nightmare to deal with so yeah can be an issue but ports usually go ok, safest time to port is during the week when you can follow up on any issues if the wheels fall off.

If you don't have ZIP, can you tick ZIP but pay with the gift cards?

    • Yep, check comments on the 4080 super deal

      • Thank you

  • I have no zip account. Anyone has any information for this 170Gb boost Sim around this price. I need to buy before end of this month. TIA.

    • +1

You can buy via Cashrewards cashback ($50).

    • Just curious

Are you planning to port out then back in?

I heard this is required as cant contact chat to use sim as recharge anymore

  • It says code not working

  • Doesn't seem to be working anymore
