That's illegal for a store to force a store credit as a refund with no other option. It says in the ACCC Warranties and refunds guide that the refund is to go to the original payment method used as payment. For example if you used the credit card payment then the refund should be going back as a credit card refund. Kogan is in a clear breach of Australian Consumer Law since they are indeed forcing store credit as a refund with no other option.
It's on page 8. Well it says there that a store is not allowed to insist that the refund be a store credit only. Totally against the law. The refund is to go to the original payment method.
"If a consumer cancels their contract of sale
with the seller, they are entitled to insist on a
full refund. A seller may not insist the consumer
receive another form of remedy (such as repair or
replacement goods) or insist that the refund be
issued as store credit.A consumer is generally entitled to receive any
refund in the form of their original payment. For
example, if they paid for an item with a credit card,
it is reasonable for the seller to give the consumer
a credit card refund."https://www.accc.gov.au/system/files/Warranties%20and%20refu…
Why hasn't Kogan been fined by the ACCC over this?. As in forcing refunds to be issued only as store credit with no other option to the buyer. It's a completely illegal act according to what the ACCC Warranties and Refunds guide states.
I bought a pair for my mother, where they were a little big. Kogan offered full refund (to my card) and free return postage….
Strange. Their guarantee and returns policy on this web page indicates differently. It mentions refund as Kogan.com credit for change of minds.
man they sold out fast!
Which size, cranberry colour was still available for most sizes a minute ago.
oh i mean size 11 sold out fast, there are still other sizes available! my bad
I bought some Nikes from Kogan a while ago for a similar price, but they ended up being fake… well I assume they were as they fell apart after a couple of months. I never actioned it and I don't know if they were just a dodgy pair but I won't be buying shoes from Kogan anymore.
I was also concerned at these prices. I recently ordered 2 pairs of these Asics (yet to be worn) but the boxes, tags, labels all seem legit..
Bought a pair of Birkenstock recently. No issue at all. 100% legit.
It's a steal. With this price, they would let u keep it without post it back if wrong size unless u wanna exchange. Tried one 2 yrs ago but….
Thanks OP. Bought one with free 14 days Kogan First trial.
make sure to cancel free trial before 14 days finishes
Yup. Enabled a reminder 3 days before it finishes
Stay clear. These are fake.
I bought Nike and Asics few months back at slightly higher price, box/packing looks great but both shoes fell apart within couple of months. Never again. If they sell fake items in the name of Brand, they should be sued
I bought 3 and none are fake
I bought Asics Kayano shoes years ago for cheap from Kogan. The shoes got wet in rain one day and it started smelling badly like cat pee so i was forced to bin it. I'm not sure if real Asics shoes are meant to do that as soon as it gets wet.
Lol kogan
48 at Catch and myDeal if the stock runs out
Brought a pair of gel kayano 30 at CATCH and returned as i feared they were fake. the serial number tag was marked out looked sus. so beware!
Catch isn't Kogan. But also the serial number tag being marked out is probably because it was a grey import. And they didn't want Asics being told of the serial numbers as it would have been traced as being a grey import. And Asics is probably very protective of the Australian consumer market distribution.
Bought. Great deal. Thanks OP.
Well good luck if you have to return the shoes for a refund and want actual money back. As Kogan will only issue a store credit as a refund. Which is clearly against consumer law.

@hollykryten: I found it strange that they even paid for postage return as I couldn't find any info on that too.
These were delivered yesterday. Great runners for the price.
Prefer to buy from Amazon because they give full refund if it's not fit, whereas Kogan will only give store credit. That's suck!
