[VIC] AleBlazer Craft Beer Membership - $40 for 52 Beers (1 Per Week Per Brewery) @ Various Breweries via AleBlazer

70

Since we launched over 6 months ago, hundreds of Victorians have been out enjoying their first beer FREE when visiting new craft breweries. Ale Blazer has the objective of supporting the local craft beer scene (Victoria only thus far) by stimulating in-person visitation of brewery tap rooms.

In return for making the effort of checking out the brewery in person, Ale Blazer members get a free welcome beer on the following basis:

$10 Annual Membership gets you one free beer per month (total). You can visit any brewery on the list only once in the year for your freebie. That's 12 beers total for the year for $10.

$40 Annual Membership gets you one free beer per week (total). You can visit any brewery on the list only once in the year for your freebie. That's 52 beers total for the year for $40.

We are aware we only have 37 breweries listed to date but are adding new one's all the time. If you happen to make it through the available list before we get to adding sufficient breweries, we reset the full list so you can go back to your favourites.

There is no roll over if you miss a week/month.

Each brewery sets its own rules on the beer available but as the goal is to find new happy customers, most are very flexible & generous in their available range.

The system is set up to both provide great value and to support the local scene. It is deliberately set up to avoid pubcrawling freebies over a session that adds no real value to the brewery. We understand this may not be to everyone's preference.

Cheers!

Hi Pete - it is up to the brewery on the beer and the size. Minimum is a pot but most don't even have pots these days so that means min is schooner. Most offer a pint. In terms of selection, again most just let you pick what you want from the tap selection. Their goal here is to have you love their beer and their brewery so being restrictive doesn't serve the cause. After 6 months we've had exactly zero negative feedback from members on size or selection.

  • Temple has gone into administration unfortunately and is now closed.

Thanks for the heads up there! It’s rife in the industry unfortunately and what we are aiming to help breweries overcome before it’s too late.

With the precedent now set by the ATO that they are willing to take cents in the dollar on the tax owed (and deferred during COVID) but you need to go into voluntary administration to get that deal - expect a lot to take that path. Not all will close though. For many it is just tactical.

  • I was wondering what the brown pants with the red crotch has to do with beer…

You haven’t been out drinking with me, always safer to wear brown pants when out on the beers 🤣

  • The Victorian Craft Beer Passport is another option, with a larger range of participating breweries. https://craftbeerpassport.com.au/products/2024-vic-craft-bee…

Yep. 2 main differences are the passport is not always a free beer and it’s $65.
