I think you are confusing it with Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin New Shepard

    • Make a video and put on fansonly make some pocket money

  • normal price…..

  • Seems to be the normal price, plus not such a great price for a gas torch.

Musk seems like a bit of a twat, why do people want to empower him?

    • Not much, just the future of humanity.

    • +3

I don't think a few butane torch sales is going to empower him.

On the other hand, NASA in the sixties went from not having an orbital rocket, to putting a man on the moon in ten years…. and then, nothing. They've been working on a replacement to the Space Shuttle since the Challenger disaster in 1986, and they haven't built a new working spacesuit since the 1970s (although they've paid a lot of money for non-working prototypes). All the while their budget has sat at around half of its moon-landing peak, in inflation adjusted dollars. To put it another way, they've had the budget and the technology to put people on Mars since the 90s, but haven't gotten around to it. Their plan since the 80s seems to be that since people lose their jobs when astronauts die, it's better to take minimal risks. Don't launch people more than 400km above the earth, and if you can, get Russia or SpaceX to launch them so they get shouted at in case of accident, not you.

So, while Musk's a tool (and he was a lot easier to like before anyone knew anything about him) he's the only one actually working to put people into space.

(Someone's going to say Bezos. His company has been going longer than SpaceX, but is still unable to put anything into orbit. Your ($1.5 million per person?) ticket gets you a nine minute ride, from take off to touch down. You ride 100km up, get a couple of minutes of zero g, then you fall down again. He's where NASA were in 1961)

Ironically the bargain is that as a limited edition when it sells out you can sell it at 4x the original price

    • +1

The thing is they are not limited edition this is the second release of them and eBay is flooded with people trying to sell the for $600+ on eBay as they presumed the first batch was limited.

    Thunderbirds shopping for butt plugs?

  • +3

Just a glorified butane torch. I reckon this has better ergonomics.

  • one thing that is infinite is the number of limited editions that gullible people will fall for

    • Banking on that, not-flamethrowers are bidding for about $1500 still on eBay. Rrp was $500usd

I tried to use one, but the flap nearly burned off.

    • +1

You don’t put it down your pants.

    • +6

Yea. I support unelected officials censoring our media too.

Flight 4 was amazing to watch. Cool as a collector's item but I'll pass.

    • Give me a chunk of melted stainless or a heat shield tile from that front flap instead!

  • It's now apple fanbois vs musk fanbois
