    Good for preppers?

    • +1

Perfect for multiple days of use (2kWh), for prepping I would add a solar panel or find some way to charge the unit incase of power outages.

    • If you have to ask…
But the jokes on me because even if I wanted one I can’t responsibly afford it.

  • How about using it as a UPS for computer equipment?

    • +4

You can use the AC200P as a limited UPS but we would recommend looking at a different unit like the AC180P.

Reasons: The AC200P chargers at 500W so if you're outputting over 500W the battery will drain since it does not support passthrough charging, the AC180P Supports passthrough charging and has a dedicated UPS mode

A UPS really works very differently with most featuring automatic voltage regulation (AVR), which can prevent the need to switch to batteries when the power is out of specification, but not off completely.

This sort of battery system is really designed for when the mains power is off for extended periods (more than a few minutes). Now there might be units that can do both, but I am just not aware of them as these battery systems are improving and adding new features quickly.

    • I use an AC200L, to supply my old Cyberpower CP1500EPFC UPS. The cyberpower has only enough capacity to keep my PC running for 3 minutes under load or 15 minutes idle. But when the power cuts out, the AC200L takes over by switching from UPS bypass to battery supply in 20ms, but the Cyberpower ensures that the 20ms switchover time does not affect my computer.

  • You can price match with the official store https://www.bluettipower.com.au/products/bluetti-ac200p-2000… (bonus small gift set), not sure if it can also be combined with 4.9% cashback. Also this seems to be an old model that doesn't have Bluetooth/Wifi.

Yes you can do this, our leg up is that we are a local business that physically stocks the units for display and demo and offer same day shipping or click and collect.

Good for tradies who need to power or charge their tools when mains isn't available

  • I've got a 10kw goodwe solar system (jinko solar panels) & the system is ready to go with any ac coupled battery like - tesla, alpha etc . Or it can go with any battery by adding with a small hybrid inverter; like - Goodwe, sungrow etc
What do you recommend in adding anywhere between 5kw-10kw battery to this setup?

    • +1

If you are connected to the grid always go with battery that is approved by CEC. This would be Tesla which is 13.5kwh or Bluetti EP760 10kwh

  • So… This can start a large fridge and keep it running for several hours in a black out then then?

    • +1

Yes, it can. I've used the newer model AC200L to power 1 fridge, 2 freezers, my TV, PS5, and induction stove all at the same time.

      • I'm assuming that this is glamping? Or are you in SA and this is just to survive the odd power loss?

    • +2

Fridges will be no issue, I've found they'll draw more power depending on the user more than the efficiency, IE:

If you have kids that like looking in the fridge every 20 minutes to see if food has magically appeared, your power draw will be way more and your battery life will be a lot less than leaving it shut and only opening the fridge to take out what you want.

This is because the main draw for a fridge is the compressor, which only turns on to cool the fridge down, less opening and closing will lead to less power draw in almost all cases.

      • @Moorabbin Batteries

        Shelf-Life:Charge Every 3-6 Months

Aside from the 4 year warranty, how long do you expect life of battery (in years) if this is upheld with very rare occasion use?

        Edit:
Google tells me up to 10 years.

  • Sorry this is off topic.
Is there any way to convert UPS to power station. I bought APC br1600mi. I am using this as backup to power to son's electric bed. As it is ups it self discharges in few hours even there is no load connected and not useful for longer power outages.
    Thanks

    • From the specs, it looks like what you have is on lead-acid chemistry, which is only good for short lived power, modern lithium-ion based batteries like this one has much lower self discharge rate, and much better discharge curve. You can google the comparison between different battery chemistries to learn more.

Edit: so the answer is no, unless you're really handy and comfortable replacing the battery cells & charge controller circuit board of your UPS
