$200 Trade-in Bonus Coupon for a Google Pixel 8 Pro (e.g. 128GB $899 with Trade-in Bonus) @ JB Hi-Fi

170

Pretty late in the release cycle, but likely part of the EOFY deals. Scroll halfway down on the product page to see the JB coupon information. Ties in nicely with this deal

This is a bonus coupon which means that you'll get the value of your trade in device as a gift card and a link in your email to select the $200 coupon.

Only for specific models of the Pixel 8 Pro - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/search?page=1&query=662714%2C66271…

Pixel 8 Pro 128GB - $1,099 - $200 (coupon) = $899
Pixel 8 Pro 256GB - $1,199 - $200 (coupon) = $999
Pixel 8 Pro 512GB - $1,399 - $200 (coupon) = $1,199

There are also Pixel 8 deals too, but don't recommend unless you're trying to price match another store - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/search?page=1&query=662710%2C66271…

Pixel 8 125GB - $1,199 - $200 (coupon) = $999

  • So If I'm understanding this correctly, I can trade in my P7 for $250, and then get the $200 coupon for a total of $450 off?

    • Yep sorry - updated the description.

If your device is worth $250, you get a $250 GC and a $200 coupon to go towards the Pixel 8 Pro

      • +1

Ohh, this makes a P8P almost worthwhile.

edit: the "get the money later as a gift card" makes it less than ideal.

        • They send me a gift card straight away. But yea if you don't send the phone they'll charge your the trade-in amount.

    • Still better to get it from Google Store at $589 after trading in a P7 + 10% off from newsletter sign up. Thinking about it, not 100% sure. P9 is around the corner.

      • Yeah I am in the same boat, still using Pixel 6. These deals have been tempting, but I'd be more interested to see what the P9 brings in Oct.

        • Hi, haven't you received 15% off pixel 8 pro for upgrading your pixel 6? I got an email with offer this morning.

          • @Pokharabluez: Yeah I did see that email, I still don't think its going to push me over.
I'd rather wait for the 9 now.

        • +2

I'll wait. If rumors are true, P9 Pro should be what I need. I'm just worried it's going to be hecking expensive. No way I'm paying 1.8k for a phone.

          • +1

@Fg1992: Yeah my limit is maybe 1.3, if its anything more I'll just wait for the $100 off sale they usually do not longer after release, or wait for a deeper sale if its closer to iPhone pricing.

        • I also have a Pixel 6 - can't get the Google 1 or Newsletter discounts as I am already subscribed to both

          JB Hifi - $1099 less $200 coupon, less $99 trade in, less $100 JB voucher I already have = 1099-200-99-100 = $700
          Google - $1099 less 15% upgrade offer, less $220 trade in = 1090-254.85-220 = $624.15

Now the question is whether it's worth an extra $76 to just go down to JB and pick up the phone on the spot as opposed to paying the pre trade in price ($844.15) with Google, wait a week for the phone to be delivered and then wait 2 weeks for the trade in to be credited to my card

          • @rangitamoe: I chose the former more so because my P6P died and I needed a replacement asap! With the temporary iphone 6 I was using, no way I could wait for a week.

  • +3

They only offer $280 for Pixel 8a which just came out a few weeks ago!

    • Yeah, 250 for a pixel 7, pretty shit rates.

  • $450 trade in for a P8

  • So is it $809 or $899 for the 128gb Pro? Post in title shows $809 and the description shows $899.

Just checking if I missed any additional discounts.

    • I could not math, it's $899 but you could probably price match OW's $1,087 to get it down to $887

    • So 1,199 - 200 bonus credit - 190 trade-in for p6pro = 809

  • Dumb q - Would the $200 bonus coupon stack with the 3G trade in offer?

    • no … you can only use 1 coupon at one time. can't even double stack with $300 perks $30 last time

  • Wonder if there will be any EOFY deals on the Pixel 7a, hope to grab one for under $500.

  • Weird that the Pixel 8 (standard) is more expensive than the Pro model.

  • Google is still cheaper if you stack:

    • $600 off
    • 10% off RRP newsletter coupon
    • 10% credit if you have Google One 2TB (first month $3.12)

So for 256gb I paid $1199-600-179= $1020 plus $102 in Google store credit (net $918). Plus $3.12 Google One sign up total cost is about $921 for the 256gb version.

Confirm the Google One credit is paid to your account on the day of dispatch of the phone. So I assume you can use it then cancel Google One subscription before the month end.

    • Google credit worthless though ?

      • Why do you say that? You can use it to buy accessories such as pixel buds or phone cases. You can also price match if the prices are cheaper in eg JB hifi or Officeworks.

Alternatively you can use it fund effectively one year of free Google One 2TB.

It may not be worth 100c in a dollar like cash but still very much usable esp to buy accessories for the pixel 8 pro which you would have to otherwise buy anyway.

        • You can't use google store credit for Google one.

  • Thanks OP! Bought one and traded in a S21 for $160. $360 less using the coupon (FB Marketplace price is around $300-350 anyway). If you don't return the phone, are you liable for the trade in value only or the $200 coupon as well?

    • No, you only pay the trade in amount that you get sent as a gift card. The $200 discount you receive will be via a coupon code.

  • Quick question. If I have a $100 JB voucher that's separate can I stack that on top of the $200 coupon and the trade in coupon ?

  • question for trade in $200, i have a pixel 6 pro but the phone having a tiny screen issue on top right corner, can i still trade in for it

    • when getting quotes from SquareUp previously (recently), ANY kind of screen damage to pixel 6 pro made it worthless for this deal
not sure if things have changed post this deal

  • Does anyone have issues with squareup's ID verification. I've tried both license and passport but it keeps failing.

    • Did you ever get through in the end? It's not working for me either

Edit: it worked by completing the whole process on my phone, instead of starting on the computer and scanning the QR code for verification.

      • I tried both phone as well as laptop it wouldn't work. Reached out to squareup and they did something to my profile which didn't work either. Ended up using wife's ID and went through!

    • I've tried both license and passport but it keeps failing.

      maybe too much botox?

    • Metoo, had to retry a few times

  • can you do trade-in instore? I have quite a few gift cards to use

  • Hi I traded in my broken pixel 7 for this deal (estimated to be $56), on the terms and condition it says that if I don't send out the phone, then they will charge my $200 JB discount coupon + the trade-in amount? However everyone seems to say that they will only charge what's charged on the credit card. Can anyone who has done it recently please confirm? Thank you.

    • Any updates on this, would like to try the same!

      • I ended up cancelling the trade-in, they charged the $56 but allowed me to keep the $200 coupon so far.
