Home Internet EOFY Deals

Does anyone have any local (Perth NOR) customer experience with Pentanet for your home internet? Good, bad, ugly!?

They're currently offering fixed wireless for $69p/m (120/20) ongoing for entirety of contract with them.

Currently with iinet (HFC) and our experience is that they're 7/10 for connection reliability, but we are currently paying $75 for slower speeds than above, although their customer service is good.

Or if you know of any other current home internet deals, please tell me about them.

Its their own Wireless Network, not NBN Fixed Wireless.

HFC and you are getting 7/10? Something isn't right……

7/10 is their rating of the connection reliability, not the dl/ul speeds.

      • Ah, right. That makes sense.

Stick with HFC and change provider and/or speed plan. Don't go for fixed wireless for the 120/20 plan.

      • Thanks for the tip, is HFC a decent option is it? We wouldn't know any better as have had this type connection since beginning of home ownership.

Depends on your specific connection, but absolutely can do up to gigabit speeds.

        • nbn HFC is capable of 100/20, 100/40, 250/25 and 1000/50. nbn want to do 2000/100 over HFC in the future.

@Twix: Well that's great news. We've now decided to stay HFC & find a better deal through another company. Thanks for the info.

            • @IamMe23: All good. You might have to purchase a new router for the 250+ speed tiers.

@Twix: We'll keep this in mind. We'll be pushing for 100d/l speed for this first upgrade. Down the track we'll potentially go higher & look into suitable alternative routers also.
