Looking for a Cheap Tiny Phone for Bike Riding

hi all looking for advice

I want a tiny phone to display Trailforks or the like on my handle bars.

I was thinking a lte watch but it does not seem to that straight forward to getting maps up.

I'm thinking of something like the Jelly phones or rugged like https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005958849721.html

has anyone got done the same? any feedback on small screen phones from ali?

Just grab the first servo/supermarket phone you see with an adequate screen size. These "rugged" units are generally not tough, just a visual thing. $234 is insanely expensive for that.

Note the vibration of your bike will destroy the Optical Image Stabilizer (mechanical component of phone cameras) over time

      • as sick as i am on the bike im not going to be using it that ofter…. but thanks!

Coming from a long time Android user since HTC Dream… get a refurbished last gen iPhone SE.

    • yeh i was thinking exactly that… accessories are easier and decent ux

You don't need "rugged", but waterproof preferably, and a solid mount like this:

For the same price you could probably pick up a second hand Garmin Edge 530 or Wahoo Elemnt Bolt - these devices have navigation and will show you nearby trails.

Any one of the $49 android cheapies from Kmart in a handlebar holders??

Get a bike computer (Wahoo or Garmin) and upload the route GPX file to it. I've done many Victorian rail trails on my gravel bike this way. It's like a satnav - can't get lost even in the most remote places (in VIC at least).

The bike computer also gives you a lot of data to help you plan your ride e.g. gradients so you know where all the tough climbs are coming up ahead, power output so that you can ride within your limits, you can even set reminders to fuel/drink, etc.
