I've been keeping an eye out in my wishlist for magnetic wireless power banks to avoid the cables, and saw that this 20W INIU power bank from the previous deal is now on sale again at an all-time low. Hope there is sufficient stock left since it looks like it's clearance directly from the Amazon warehouse.

  • So this wouldn't charge a pixel 7?

    • +4

I was wondering the same and there's a Q&A section that confirms it won't:

Can this magnetic wireless power bank charge my Samsung Galaxy Phone?

No. It can ONLY provide magnetic wireless charging for iPhone 15 / 14 / 13 / 12 Series and can't charge other brand phones(Samsung, Google, Sony, etc).

    • +2

Yes it does as long as you are using a magsafe conpatible case.

  • +1

Not bad. Bought a couple. Good for me at work as I’m always in and out the office and often need a quick top up

  • thanks got 1 this time before it is oos

  • Damn expired already

I'm still waiting for the ESR ones to ship from this deal two months later. Dodgy company keeps offering 15% off coupons, while pretending the item was always a pre-order.

Buy directly from Amazon, like this, if you can - avoid dodgy overseas companies like ESR who rob you blind.

    • I’ve only ever bought ESR gear through them via Amazon. Their customer service is great whenever I’ve had issues with something. Perhaps contact them through there with the order history etc as I’m sure you’ll get it sorted quicker.

Edit: I mean ESR customer service, not Amazon.

Have tried multiple times - they keep saying it was meant to be a pre-order, that it'd ship soon, and they offer me a 15% off coupon.

Two months of this, still no items.

    • +2

Send a mail to them. They will reply back saying black is not in stock are you happy if we ship white powerbank. Once you confirm , you will recieve it in few days. Mine arrived via Amazon.

      • I suggested they do that a couple of weeks ago and I guess they just decided to complain on ozbargain about it instead.

        • -3

Actually, I contacted ESR. They offered me a 15% off coupon… again.

They also gaslit me, again, that I was "pre-ordering", not buying - the emails from them saying it'd ship in 1-3 days were "incorrect".

So before you enjoy your high horse for too long there, @theguyrules, maybe ask yourself - what would it take for someone "to complain on OzBargain about it instead"… maybe 3-4 emails over months, to no avail…

This company has treated me terribly, I have every right to complain about it.

      • -1

I was never offered a white version - I'd have happily taken that.

I was never informed of a delay in shipping until I complained after the first month (at which time I was told it was my fault for not understanding it was a pre-order - despite the email confirmation saying it'd ship in 1-3 days).

This is my experience with ESR.

I received mine a couple of weeks ago. Shipped via Amazon. 2x black and 2x white.

      Pretty happy.

I thought I had to wait a long time. You should have received by now.

  • Purchased thinking it might wirelessly charge my Samsung phone and watch. Looks like I'll be submitting a cancellation.

    • It will if you have a magsafe cover on your phone.

    • if ur in melbourne, i can buy it off u. Just missed this deal

      • I am in Melb PM me.

        • I think your pm might be off, couldnt pm u

          • @terroz: Thanks, I have enabled now.

    • Ordered mine yesterday and received a few hours ago. Can do fast wireless charging on my S24 ultra (with a magsafe case)

  • With inefficient wireless charging 40% of the energy storage is lost to heat, compared to wired. So you're actually carrying around a 10000wh battery, but can't use it all.

    • They actually mention 6,000 mAh x 0.6 in the description

    • +1

40% is about what you'd expect for total losses including voltage conversion losses and charging losses in the device being charged. It does vary a lot depending on phone / case though.

In comparison, wired charging also has voltage conversion losses, plus cable and connection losses, and the charging losses in the device being charged.

As a comparison, I tested a Ugreen 10K Magsafe power bank, and wireless charging losses are about 22% higher than wired. In real world use, this represents about 10% lost capacity when wireless charging.

That said, if charging it not well aligned (and many magsafe cases for Android phones don't seem to have the magnets in the right spot) then the extra losses can be very high. On a Pixel 7 Pro magsafe charging case that is not correctly aligned to the coil, losses are about 90%!

I snagged one of these INIU power banks, so will test it and see how it fairs.

  • +2

As others have said, this does work with other bands aside from Apple, if you have a magsafe case or align it correctly. I tested with a Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 8 Pro.

I also did a quick wired capacity test at 9V 20W and got 18.49Wh. Which is about 83% of rated capacity, and completely normal - especially for a small capacity power bank.

Will do more wired and wireless tests.

    • Thanks Prong. Appreciate you taking time to test the batteries properly and sharing the results with the community.
