I was researching for budget-friendly, "thocky" mechanical keyboards, and the AULA F75 was one of the top suggestions. EPOMAKER is currently running a sale with better discounts on other products. My second consideration was the AK820 PRO, which is now available at a 20% discount. The 75% layout is highly preferred within the custom keyboard community.
The LEOBOG Hi75 is highly regarded for its excellent quality and aluminum alloy construction, but it is a wired keyboard.
All these are Hot-Swappable(you can easily change the switch and key caps)

I have two of the Epomaker TH80 keyboards and they failed within a year where the PCB had failed by a component burning out. Epomaker did send out a replacement PCB, but they wanted me to pay for shipping! The replacement board also failed. So not a fan of what they are using as a PCB supplier for their keyboards.

Instead, I'm using a wired keyboard now (Monsgeek M1) with no issues and it has been super super super reliable!

agreed, i had 2 different epomakers. 1 failed, tried a different layout. failed again. absolute trash.

i now have a modern 97, keychron q1, qwerty keys qk75, and a kbdfans odin.

      • any suggestions, not into Keychron, as they don't offer 2.4, which is needed for gaming. (looking only for wireless)

        • Keychron now makes 2.4Ghz wireless. Check out their Max series.

          • @gabes: I did check that, V1 Max reviews were avg, Q1 Max expensive

            • @ozshopp3r: If you want to use mechanical switched keyboards, then whether you have 2.4GHz or BT connection is less of an impact compared to the longer travel of a mechanical switch when compared to a film switch. Maybe look at hall effect switched keyboards where you can customise the key activation point. Steelseries Apex Pro is one that comes to mind, but I don't expect it to be cheap.

Otherwise, you can also look at a Monsgeek M1W. It has all 3 connection methods of wired, Bluetooth and 2.4GHz.

      • Another thing I found was that the "power" switch on the TH80, when turned off still allowed a BT connection to the PC and normal use, when the battery was full. The battery indicator in Windows would say 1% remaining, when in reality, the battery was at 100%, but just turned off. Really odd PCB design decision.

    • Not a fan of wired one, I was checking Reddit, and many high praise for AULA F75 and AK820 Pro. So under consideration. How's Royal Kludge RK M75?

      • Been using Ak820 pro for the last 3 months and have been happy so far. Only complaint is that it took a little bit of googling to find the latest version of the software. Software works well I have to say.

    • So not a fan of what they are using as a PCB supplier for their keyboards.

this is almost always the case for all the cheapest random name brand boards such as Nexttime, Ajazz, Magegee the list goes on because when a brand fails it pops up again under a different name (Nexttime was around when I was in the hobby, now seems like not). they all look different on the outside but if you open them up they all use the same PCB's from the same cheap PCB manufacturer, sometimes the PCB color will be different but other than that everything else inside is identical.
some things you will find in common is all these cheap boards support 2.4Ghz, BT and wired. which is why I am always sus when a new Kickstarter keyboard that is the standard MX type gets pushed out with these features.

also Epomaker sells a lot of boards that look identical to those cheap ones on aliexpress. this is because they pick and choose and make a deal with the factory for XXXX units and then have them put their logo on it and maybe unique case colors/keycaps and sell it as their own on their website globally. nothing better about the quality just a rebranding.

I went through the mechanical keyboard loophole. Found out I prefer silent switches and low profile keyboards at night. Definitely use the buy one Amazon because refunds are so much easier or buy a second hand for cheap.

Amazon's return policy is not a demo service. Just FYI.

      • Yes it is? Change of mind is a common policy. Why do you think you pay a restock fee if its a more expensive item?

        • Change of mind policy, when there is one, almost always states the product should be unopened and unused. What do you expect the seller to do with a used item?

This entitled thinking is even worse in the US, where people buy 5 similar items and return 4 of them (used of course).

          • @reactor-au: You have 14 days from most retailers to return open items what you on about? Wait until you learn about customer satisfaction guarantees from retailers like Aldi and Coles.

          • @reactor-au: LOL Reactor-AU, why are you getting upset and triggered over someone else exercising their rights as a consumer? touch grass some grass mate.

  • One thing I hate about many Epomakers is the delay when you wake them up from sleep for 2.4/BT connections

Many cases, sleep timer can't be adjusted either and it's something short like 5 minutes.

    • At-least your 2.4/BT works on your Epomaker board 🥲

My TH80 was advertised as such but it never worked.

  • I've been using Azajj AK820 pro for last 3 months and have been happy with it. Bought it for $75 AUD from epomaker's website.

I think Ajazz is Epomaker's brand.
