Please remind me whether this even gets paid out on 0% categories. Because virtually all useful categories are currently 0% base rate

        Thankyou

      • This reply from the rep refers specifically to westpac. I wonder if it’ll apply to St George too?

      • This seems to be the old / potentially laid off Gotyourback.

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/841842

How do we know the information is still accurate?

    • WARNING: Current GYB rep has said 0% categories are excluded on both ST.GEORGE and WESTPAC. I am STILL waiting for an update on this as a previous rep has told us that 0% categories on Westpac were OK. Refer below:

      @gotyourback

      • Yeah I think he's wrong.. someone responded to say all was tracking ok. Be great for a rep to confirm though.. I honestly can't see why shopback can't do 0.1% on all categories just to guarantee it. That's only 10c per $100.. or just make the bonus 0.1% lower if necessary

        • I honestly can't see why shopback can't do 0.1% on all categories just to guarantee it.

SB (or any other affiliate marketing partner for that matter) doesn't get to dictate the base rates on categories. That is up to the merchant here (Amazon AU).

          • @DoctorCalculon: No reason SB can't pay the 0.1% from their coffers. If they do 0.1% base rate and 9.9% bonus it's still 10% at SB cost.

Or Amazon rejects and SB approves. There's a few ways to do it. They should make something happen if it isn't already.

Not sure if I’d trust the new rep. They could be referring to generic 0% categories for other stores but the old rep has confirmed that that was changed specifically for eBay and Amazon only

        • Yeah exactly. Been waiting for an update for a month now, and heard nothing. Frustrating.

      • LOL! The last update from @gotyourback was on 24-APRIL-2024.
Surely, it shouldn't take this long (over a month) to provide a definitive answer.

  • What about buying on Amazon.com.au but the seller is Amazon UK?

  • +1

Only partial amount needs to be paid by Westpac or Bank Bonus card to get the bonus cashback right?

    • How do you pay partially with a payment method?

      • Gift cards

        • This offer is not valid together with:

Any Gift Card, Voucher or store credit redemption

But if the Westpac/STG bonus tracks with gift card payment… who knows LOL

          • @Repstar: oh thats news to me…. I always used GC with Westpac….
Crap I was just going to buy something, but this is sus…

            • +1

@zakarados: 100%. Because now if you use a gift card, your Amazon portion that tracks will decline, which automatically means your Westpac bonus will also decline.

              • +4

@Repstar: @gotyourback can you confirm if Amazon gift card balance can be used for Amazon ShopBack transactions like it has been for the last few years?

                • @zakarados: That is really sneaky of SB to not allow GC payments after all these years.
I think the rep should at the very least make an announcement of some sort as this is a major change which will catch out many folks.

                  • @DoctorCalculon: Yeah, hard pass on this deal.
Waiting for some confirmation before doing big buys on SB/Amazon.

Macquarie allows you to purchase a gift card of a particular value, e.g. $69.69, so if your purchase is $69.70 you pay the remainder with your card to get the full cashback amount

        • +1

previously the GYB rep has said put at least $1 onto the card

  • +1

    Tracking on Amazon is shocking

    • +1

Agreed. Even if it tracked at the correct amount, it would change back to ‘calculating’ or ‘declined’ sooner or later.

  • +1

Are compression shorts considered "apparel" or "sport"

    How can we even know

    • Open the item in desktop and look at the category up the top left, it shows the categories/sub-category etc

  • +5

lol can't trust Shopback these days. So much conflicting info!

    • Yeah and the rep doesn't respond quick enough anymore 🙄

      • Topcashback going to be the best one now!

  • Sorry this may have been answered previously, but is the St George cashback on top of the regular cashback? Ie - kitchen is 9%, + 10% for St george? Thanks!

    • Yes. These are always additional, but if your category is at 0%, the entire thing might not track.

      • +1

but if your category is at 0%, the entire thing might not track.

It tracks alright, but the real question is whether it will ever be confirmed.
Sometimes, the base cashback simply remains stuck at Calculating, and then you need to ask for help from a rep here.

  • @gotyourback , the Bank bonus for this purchase disappeared and not showing as tracking (under the BoM banner). Will it reappear ?

    • Gotyourback hasn't been replying for the last few days. The account might not be in use anymore. You might want to try and contact @SaveMoniezzz.

    • here we go again… like the ebay deal last time.

  • I purchased a $5 Twitch gift card using my linked Westpac card as a trial. The base cashback was "Calculating" (i.e. zero), but it did track the Westpac bonus portion as $0.40 pending. Of course, this is no guarantee it won't be rejected later on, but it did at least track a 0% category at the advertised 8%.

  • Made a 0% category purchase with GC + St.G and it tracked, let's see if it gets approved.
