Clothes Dryer Heat Pump/Condenser

Hey guys!

I need a heat pump or condenser dryer.
Any good deals around?
Gutted I missed the Essato deal from EBay.

Forgot to mention wanting to spend around $500

I know they tend to get more expensive but aiming for a bargain!

  • Need it straight away? Or could contact appliances online and see when it's next in stock.

    • Looking to get one soon

You're in luck (looks like a rebranded Esatto).

        • I just saw this one also but didn’t know it was possibly a rebrand. Going to check it out.

          • @RegentHoney: I bought that one a few days ago and it let me choose a delivery date of two days after and it's now here and installed. Didn't install any drain hose.

Heat pumps are the best. Don't bother with vented or condenser. My Beko has been going strong for a few years now and was very affordable. Highly recommended.

      what is the difference?
I was considering one but don't have space to keep it indoors?

    • Okay I’ll keep that in mind! I wasn’t sure what was better.

Condensors are pretend heat pump dryers and not as energy efficient. Get the heat pump dryer and it uses way less.

        • Condenser dryers are not pretend heat pumps. They share the moisture removal characteristics with heat pumps but the drying characteristics with a vented dryer so they use more electricity. Consequently they'll dry faster than a heat pump dryer.

It's all kinda moot anyway because it's quite hard to find condenser dryers for sale. They're being superseded by heat pump dryers because of the obsession with efficiency.

  • I have an electro condensor dryer.

it doesn't work well with "nearly dry" clothes.

it has a moisture sensor and works/dries in regards to the level of wetness of clothes.

    For Example -

take a load of freshly washed/wet washing out of the washing machine and the condensor dryer will heat up and spin and dry the clothes.

    vs

almost dry clothes that are "just a tad dampish and need a hot air blast to get them 100% dry cos it's cloudy and cold outside and the clothes just aren't going to dry properly on their own " - then the dryer will just tumble but not heat up as it doesn't sense enough moisture to kick in the heater.

or is my electrolux condensor dryer a POS?

    • Electroluxs are renowned to be POS.

  • Beko it and you won't regret. Unfortunately they are a bit dearer but worth the money spent. Great quality product.

Also been looking into a heat pump dryer around that price point.

    Couple things from my research:
    - You can't wall mount a heat pump dryer as too heavy. If you're planning to stack on your washing machine, make sure you check the depths. A lot of dryers are a fair bit deeper than my washer, ruling them out
    - Esatto / Solt / Stirling (Aldi) all seem to be rebrands of same machine - so that Solt deal posted looks like the best value option currently
    - Seems like Esatto is replacing the EHPD80 (out of stock everywhere) with the EHPD800-W (available to order on Appliances Online, $689). Maybe there will be a better sale on it in the future?
    - Other than the Esatto / Solt there doesn't seem to be much good value options out there - the only ones with decent reviews seem to be Haier 7kg/8kg options around $800, but at that price I would probably rather just bump the budget to $1000 where there's a lot more options, and I'm tempted by the Beko with 5 year warranty

I'm still tossing up so interested to hear what you end up going for

    • I've got the Solt, bought it a few days ago. Had the Beko before at my last rental but ended up selling it in move out sale. Wish I could've kept it but needed the money.
