  • Is there any way to get extended warranty from Samsung? 12 months seems not enough for tv nowadays. Mine just died after 2.5 years.

    • +2

Contact samsung and tell them about ACL. Tell them that you would expect such item, for how much you paid for to last atleast five years.

      • Out of curiosity, have you tried thism
? has this worked in the past with Samsung?

        • Should do. A TV like this should be expected to work alot more than 2 years.

        • Tried it with their washing machine which only had 2 years warranty but failed on the 3rd year. Then had issues every year to which they replaced the board 3 times for free. On the 4th time we decided to just replace it. Also with their aircon failed on the 4th year they fixed it for free. Never buying Samsung appliances it again.

    • 2 years by law. They can't deny it.

    • Unfortunately this is not a QDOLED panel in aus

      • So does this mean it has the matte finish on a WOLED panel in this size? Maybe the blacks won't get crushed/have a purple tinge if it's not QD-OLED?

And it's not a panel lottery/panel roulette for this model, you just get WOLED & no chance of getting a QD-OLED panel?

It's a good price for a 77” OLED but I'd probably like to know exactly what I'd be getting if spending $3.5k

        • So does this mean it has the matte finish on a WOLED panel in this size?

Only the s95D (not s90d) has a matte finish

Maybe the blacks won't get crushed/have a purple tinge if it's not QD-OLED?

I don't think this is related to w vs qd

No lottery in Australia unfortunately. You are guaranteed to get the woled in the 77 inch size

Qdoled gives you much better colour production and bright room performance. The only exception for woled is the LG G4 which uses MLA but is also significantly more expensive.

      • In terms of the prevalence between woled and qd-oled, I can't really say which panel is winning.
I searched most of the major techy sites online including Rtings.com though.
Anyone really can explain why people hesitate to buy woled panelled tv?
        I'm so confused now.

  • This is a great deal for a newly released OLED!

It’s arguably the best OLED out now although the LG G4 probably edges this one.

  • The 65 inch S90D is around $2164 using old TV tradeup and 5% shop app discount.

    • What's the shop app discount you're referring to?

  • Have many people bought?
